one of the spartans feet is probably still standing on the base so thats why you are there

That or you did one of those random bipd changes that I did that made the cyborg and all vehicles float above the bsp like a few inches, which apparently was some sort of glitch in whatever I did.

no i didnt change anything in the bipd but why cant i see his feet then?
and why didnt they make it so u can see MC's feet?

They dont want you to shoot yourself, and it would mean adding more to the fp.

Legs and feet aren't visible in Halo, but they are visible in Halos 2 and 3. You can know that you have feet though. On maps such as Timberland with water, walk through the rivers while looking down. You'll see boot-shaped splashes in the water.

As for why you can stand like that, it's probably for the same reason that you can stand squarely on someone's head without either of your feet being on their head. I suspect it's just the way the collision model is.

in halo 2 and 3 they said "oh shit! i forgot the feet! we will add 'em in halo 2!"

Think about what you'd have to change in such a way to make it so you can view yourself from the first person perspective. Keep in mind that the mod2 for first person cyborg is just the hands. You'd have to add feet and animations whilst keeping them separate such that they're only visible when you look down and only to you.
