In response to Sparky's PM...

Post by TaxiService » Wed May 18, 2011 12:05 pm

In response to this post Sparky wrote:Sounds more like PURITANism to me than Christianity. But you're not supposed to lust because it sets your heart on the wrong things. That's all.
Apple's dictionary wrote:Puritan |ˈpyoŏritn|
noun
a member of a group of English Protestants of the late 16th and 17th centuries who regarded the Reformation of the Church of England under Elizabeth as incomplete and sought to simplify and regulate forms of worship.
• ( puritan) a person with censorious moral beliefs, esp. about pleasure and sex.

lust |ləst|
noun
very strong sexual desire : he knew that his lust for her had returned.
• [in sing. ] a passionate desire for something : a lust for power.
• (usu. lusts) chiefly Theology a sensual appetite regarded as sinful : lusts of the flesh.
another etymology dictionary wrote:Sense of "sinful sexual desire, degrading animal passion" (now the main meaning) developed in late O.E. from the word's use in Bible translations (e.g. lusts of the flesh to render L. concupiscentia carnis ); in other Germanic languages, the cognate words tend to still mean simply "pleasure." The verb is first attested early 13c., "to please, delight;" sense of "to have a strong sexual desire (for or after)" is first attested 1520s in biblical use.

Puritans didn't get magically to exist from nothing. They evolved from the christian church.

About Lust: The desire to fuck everything that moves is wrong for obvious reasons, but sexual desire is a natural and necessary part of life.
The word "lust" as you mean it is a sense of "sinful sexual desire".

SINFUL. A SIN. SEX == SIN. COPULATION IS BARELY ACCEPTABLE ONLY FOR PROCREATION, BECAUSE LIFE ON THIS EARTH MUST BE A LIFE OF SUFFERING TO ENTER THE REALMS OF GOD TO LIVE HAPPILY FOREVER.

what is a sin?
sin 1 |sin|
noun
an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law : a sin in the eyes of God | the human capacity for sin.

Oh, guess what. Something against "god"? GODS ARE JUST DELUSIONS CREATED BY THE HUMAN MIND.

DON'T YOU SEE THAT ALL THE LANGUAGE YOU USE AND THE FUCKING MENTALITY YOU HAVE IS RIGGED WITH CHRISTIAN CONCEPTS?! THEY ALL COME FROM THE MIDDLE AGES!!!

STOP THINKING CHRISTIANLY. You have got to analyze what you think and understand why you think that. Why you believe what you believe. In the end you will get to the conclusion that most of the thinking you do is derived by now-absurd religious gibberish!

--FUCK I AM SO MAKING THIS A THREAD RIGHT NOW!!! EVERYONE HAS GOT TO READ THIS SHIT!!! Ò_Ó
Sorry sparky. I hope you didn't want to keep this conversation personal.

PS: I HAVE MADE SOME RINGS WITH TAPE TO PUT AROUnd my fingers, and they spell:
"IT IS / USELESS / TO GET / MAD". Why did i do this? Because it had been two days that i ran around my school beginning anti-theist discourses with people who, either were miraculated (a verb that does not even translate in english. it means "to be affected by a miracle") or just didn't care because of how small their stupid brains were.
And i get mad about this christian shit a lot. I had real anger boiling in me about ALL THIS FUCKING LANGUAGE AND THOUGHT BIGOTRY THAT EVERYONE HAS, FUCKING … GRAHGHGHGHH UNBELIEVABLE!!! I CANT PUT EMPHASIS ON MY RAGE WITHOUT THINKING "fucking christ" OR "god dammit"!!!!! GODDAMMITTT!!!

I HAD MY ASS; I AM FUCKING RAGING RIGHT NOW!! WHERE ARE MY FUCKING TAPE RINGS!!! FUCKING

DEITIES

OH MANN RHGT

Yes religion is stupid. But no, there isn't anything you can do about it, especially considering it is a natural human reaction to the unknown. Everyone has a supernatural belief, only most are stupid enough to truly accept it as the only truth.

It's thought like this that leads to humans failing one another. I'm bi-sexual and I believe in God. I'm an agnostic thesist which means I believe their is a divine something out there that created us. We cannot comprehend this and that's that. Are you going to say my belief is stupid as well? even though it doesn't belong to a religion? If so, put your bias aside and open your mind. Religion isn't the problem, as I said in the other topic, it's the "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality that destroys us.

Also, Taxi. As much as I respect you for being my Modding teacher, posting your hatred for religion over a PM that should have stayed private was very immature.

Gravity doesn't exist, it is really "Intelligent Falling" as we are being kept on the earth by gods loving hands, stopping us from escaping into the place above us that doesn't exist.

Aw, do you think it was something to be kept private? Since i made a whole post full of ideas i thought i should share them with everyone, instead that just with sparky.

This topic is the first response of mine to his PM. >_> I do not see what is immature about this topic, really. I wanted to publish my thoughts so that everyone could read them, that's all.

Anyway, my hatred for religion is a thing by which you should not be offended since you are not religious. You are a theist.
I am an antitheist. I do not believe that there has been something divine that created us; that's all.
And I believe that because, in my opinion, it is natural for humans to believe in deities – in the divine. They cannot explain why the world is so perfect (or why does it exist in the first place), and so they think that somebody must have created it.

Problem is that "somebody" is a human concept. :-\ Since we exist and since nothing can exist if nobody creates it, we assume that somebody must have created us.
I believe that the last statement is not true.

Religion has little to do with theism though. They are generally just a mass delusion regarding gods. That's what i hate of them. Religions are (NOWADAYS) mostly used by humans to exploit other humans; or as an excuse kill other religion-believers; it is a form of terrorism and disinformation.

What I meant by that is not that religion itself is stupid, but when a person is so engrossed in something as to drop everything else with no regard and believe solely in a single idea to an extreme, then that is what I meant.

I am offended because for someone who wants people to progress, you go backwards from a lack of equal respect for a belief.

That's because i think that the belief itself is what is holding humanity back!

And not only that one belief, but that kind of belief in general!

I didn't mean to show disrespect to anyone, really. :-\ Why would i want to do that! It is just that i [got] really angry on the first post for some reason…

I repeat, i am trying to change myself! To be more tolerant and all. o_o
that's what counts in the end, does it not? XD (but blargh, there is just so much absurdity!) It will take time…

PS: wait, i am not having lack of respect for a belief >_< i am just pointing out the fact that ALL the beliefs of that kind are bogus!
If believers of all religions find that a form of disrespect, well… sucks for them? It should not be a much different form of disrespect from, say, an hindu not to admit the koran!

Actually "pointing out the fact" implies that what i say is a fact. >_> This is actually my opinion; what i think.
…my belief. :P or meta-belief, if you may.

As an atheist, it gets really awkward when I accidentally offend my christian friends. I used to be really open about being antitheist, but I ended up getting really guilty when I would rebuttal in a religious argument.

It really still upsets me though, how some people (not all religious people, I'm just saying some) will just BLINDLY follow something! I really just want to tell them to go and think for themselves! COME UP WITH YOUR OWN MORALS! How can someone ever progress as a human if they're taking all of their morals and thoughts out of one source? One, non proveable source.

I'll admit, the Christian faith has accomplished some great things; really amazing humanitarian efforts and really incredible unity has come from it. It's made some people happy for their entire lives, BUT: many religions, not just Christianity, have alienated and even become violent against certain groups of people and eachother. As a bisexual, I can tell you first hand, it gets a little depressing when you see a bunch of really fundementalist people running around and shouting that 'THEY'RE AN ABOMINATION!" and "DON'T WORRY, FAGS CAN CURE THEMSELVES IF THEY'LL JUST SEE THE LIGHT OF GOD."

Now, I realize that the people who do that kind of thing are a very small minority, but still, it's in the bible, it's in the qur'an, it's in the torah. There really isn't a good track record between Abrahamic religions and tolerance of many groups.

I dunno, I probably strayed off of my original subject a bit, and I've probably offended some people. I'm sorry if I offended you, I just need to speak my mind every once in a while. Religion can be a great thing, but I wonder how many people have died over it in the past. I dunno. I'm feeling too guilty to come up with anything else. I'm really sorry if I offended.

I have to agree with Taxi.
I believe that religion holds humanity back as a species, and I'm not just going to sit back and "respect" a radical belief with no purpose.
