swordedit: Genesis - Let there be Light
I don't rebuild the map - I just import the scenery in HHK and HMT. How do I rebuild the map after that?
After I import the scenery, it behaves like you describe, but even when I swap the scenery in (instead of "activating" it in SwordEdit), SwordEdit still ruins the map when I save twice in a row.
Did you actually release the update? It seems to work fine without imported scenery.

Hey I've found some problems with swordedit that I don't think anyone mentioned yet.
I don't think anyone else has had this problem, but for me when I click save, swordedit crashes (however it saves properly). It's not a big deal but it's a little annoying to have to re-open it after every save.
Another problem is that the object selection isn't very accurate, especially with smaller scenery like the teleporter shields next to or on top of bigger scenery. Sometimes I'm unable to select a piece of scenery because of this (it selects the bigger piece instead).
My final problem is with the mp_warthogs, which only show up as the chaingun (the rest of the model is not displayed).
Other than that, it's been really useful, especially the teleporter creator. Also, I really enjoy the high quality of the graphics; big step up from sparkedit.

Suck it up, Zap. Deal with it like a man! XD
Anyways...
Yeah, I noticed that selecting small stuff is a tad annoying. But not annoying enough to warrant me complaining about it. As for swordedit quitting after saving, I don't have that problem, although you're supposed to quit after you save anyway. Then, the warthogs. Yeah. I have that problem too. I'm not worried, as you can still select them.

Yeah, selecting small stuff is indeed annoying. I've had trouble using the glRender(GL_SELECT) mode to select objects while using the NSOpenGLContext class. I'm not sure why, but its always off by, around, 70 pixels on the Y axis and around 25 pixels on the X axis. Of course, thats not exact and it changes depending on perspective.Kayar wrote:Suck it up, Zap. Deal with it like a man! XD

I've tried several different selection algorithms, including two of my own, bob's, and then the original sparkedit's. My second worked better than bobs, though not near what I wanted. Using the original sparkedit selection code selection became much more accurate. Its still not what I want it to be which is incredibly annoying.
Once I've got more features finished and debugged I'll look into this again. At the moment selection is acceptable but just gets annoying. It works well enough that I'm happy with it.
The sword.

Sword informed me that he has not yet posted the version that contains the "save" fix. He's holding off until the next big release. (So we can have a gay ol' time exploring the several enhancements and creating lakes of saliva in the waiting.)
