Midship:
8 player-KotH-no teams-starting nades-random start weps-no weps on map-10 minute win-no respawn time-no moving hill
=
Lag and uber extreme awsomeness fun. And Midship's center under the bridge gets dyed jet black dotted with brightly colored weapons. I dare you to stay alive for more than 30 seconds. Its hard.

I'm going to be honest with you: about a year ago, when this forum was basicaly the greatest HDmoding site on the web, you guys were a little...how do i say this politly...smug about having people learn the hard way on their own with minimal help. that's really kind of brought about the imminent death of HD modding. But i do agree. if there is anyway to save modding, there must be...sacrafices...knowledge made public, Gods coming to the level of n00bs to let them join their ranks...so on.>Shadow< wrote:Sorry, but that sounded a little bit egotistical. Why should you be the only one taught these things? As everyone could not stress enough, Halo Demo modding is dying. If we don't let the public learn a few new tricks, Halo Demo modding is as good as over. >_>
Oh, and to anyone who cares, Rhombicosidodectuple is not a real word.
Our lifes our brief,
And soon it flys away like a dove.
But for now I rejoyce,
And help to spread the 8 bit love.

THINK ABOUT IT
Has Anyone read this guy's post? He seems to have an opinion here! We need to read and think about it. If it's good or bad is up to you. After all, the world is ruled by opinions.8bitlove wrote:I'm going to be honest with you: about a year ago, when this forum was basicaly the greatest HDmoding site on the web, you guys were a little...how do i say this politly...smug about having people learn the hard way on their own with minimal help. that's really kind of brought about the imminent death of HD modding. What I think we need here is one of 2 things, or possibly both to save modding the Halo Demo.
1. We need a nitty gritty, very bottom, absolute basic tutorial for 3 day old modders like myself. Something to get us off slowly, and to help us build from there. Possibly even a group of experienced modders who are willing to take the time to help individual noobs (Like Me

2. If anyone here has ever played or even heard of a game called Marathon, now Aleph One, (a predecessor to Halo, it's logo is in Halo's, multiple similarities, ect.) there was a tool brought out called "Forge" which was an all in itself Marathon map maker and editor. Now it is far less sophisticated (requires classic, goes with a game a decade old), but the principle of this is an easy way to make and edit a map. We NEED something like this made for Halo/Halo Demo. It would make it a lot easier for folks to take it up overnight (Maybe not exactly, but you get the idea), make it fun, and not cause people's brains to go in a loop like mine does when staring at HexEdit.
That is what I think we should do. What we need to do. I know there are experienced programmers out there, and on this site, who with the proper patience and encouragement could do this.
Think about it,
