Neither. Hex is the best. But out of those two, HMT is the best. Remember that HMT is an auto-save so remember to backup all your files. HHK is not an auto save. You have to manually save.

go here:

and here:

Now read. Then ask questions.
Our lifes our brief,
And soon it flys away like a dove.
But for now I rejoyce,
And help to spread the 8 bit love.

Hmm. I am just wondering. Is 8bitlove new and he just started posting, or is he old and came back to modding or something?

Haven't seem him active here for a while, but he's not "new."

Fury, try to learn. For instance, when we go into a subject at school and start a completely new topic, you PROBABLY know nothing about it. Once you look at it, start to be taught, it's easy as pie. Hex is never going to be easy, but I don't know if you have ever tried to learn it. Hex can get easiER though if you just take the time.

Yes. Learn the hex. Take some time and sit down and play with it. Haha. It works.

Yes, in some ways. Tools are definitely better to start with in my opinion, and also tools are much faster. Like the dependency swapper saves you so much time, rather then finding the codes and changing them yourself. That gets tedious and just means less modders and less mods coming out.

It also means more noobs modding. No talent...just people going CLICK CLICK CLICK WOOT I CAN MOD OMFGZ! I CANT HEX, BUT I CAN MOD! WOOT I AM A NUB! YAY! I NEED ATTENTION! GIVE ME ATTENTION! OMFGZ MY CAPZ LOCK KEY IS STUCKKKKK! HLP ME!

Anyways, yeah. Hex should be done first. If you can't hex, you can't truly mod.

Haha. Yes I can see what you mean. But isn't modding just for fun? Like so what they come on here and look for advice and help. They aren't bugging you in anyway. So just don't answer what they post if you don't want to. It's simple. And they might not release those mods. They might be only for their enjoyment. I have never released a mod in my whole time of modding. I have made tons and tons but never released.

Hmm. I guess I should make a mod huh?

damn, i need to spend more time on this forum...

To answer your question, i started last year. i'm a decent modder (though i never release any mods), but since i can't do anything on my pc at home and my privledges on my school laptop have been reduced so much, cant mod anymore until i figure out a new way to open apps. anyways, i have been around a little while, but i'm not exactly great. answer your question well enough?
