Yeah, you americans should do something about this.moot wrote:American Censorship Day: November 16, 2011
On November 16th, the "Stop Online Piracy Act" will be heard in Congress. This legislation, in addition to the Senate's "Protect IP Act", completely undermine and fundamentally change the core principles of the Web. They have the potential to radically alter or shut down sites like YouTube, Flickr, 4chan, others, and all new companies that follow.
See americancensorship.org for more and help us stop these bills from becoming law.

I agree with this; while this bill aims to combat piracy, it would set a dangerous precedent on how governments should deal with internet-related issues.TaxiService wrote:

Re: Stop internet censorship!
Wasn't there something like this for video games? In fact, Penny Arcade I think had almost the exact same comic...

The law will never pass. If it does, more people will take to the streets, and this time it will be people who use the internet. Don't want that on your hands...

Re: Stop internet censorship!
Hahaha, this is true. The only reason you don't see these people is because they don't go out so much. They argue online. You take that away and you got a lot of people coming out to argue in a less electronic medium. Online arguments are already not pretty, especially when you get hundreds involved. Now move the hundreds to somewhere else (where?) to argue. Good luck with that.Monk34 wrote:The law will never pass. Also, if I remember, the Penny Arcade comic said something along the lines of:
"We have found that games have no influence on the way people think"
"If that is the case, why do you want to censor them?"
So it's not quite the same. But it's still a similar argument like the above.

Re: Stop internet censorship!
Did you watch the video? Although the first video may at first not appear to be anything about it (or about anything mildly educational, for that matter) once you reach near the end you'll see.
Re: Stop internet censorship!
Please don't post videos and then nothing in text, it just shows you have no understanding of it.
This is a dangerous move, there are a lot of psychos on the internet who would go to enormous lengths to get their midget porn.
