Actually, Japan was trying to it's expand territory and influence in Southeastern Asia, and the U.S. was opposing it's expansion. My understanding is that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in a preemptive move, realizing that the only way they could win a war against the U.S. was in a short, 6 month war.
My thoughts on Hiroshima and Nagasaki: there were better alternatives to both to a full scale invasion and nuking civilian cities to end the war. Bombings unjustified.

The thing about my culture is moxus, our honor is more important to the majority of us then anything else. It's a blessing to most but also a curse. We look down upon dishonor because we are human, and those who do horrid acts are considered below human. After I learned about China, and what happened I supported the bombings. My people deserved it, we made hundreds, thousands suffer and it was only right we take a fair share of that pain. Two wrongs may not make a right, but it is a start. Karma if you will.

Just to say,
Their were crazy people who didnt want to surrender, and attempted to assassinate the emperor.
And if that did happen, Japan would not of surrendered after the 2 atomic bomb,
Operation Downfall would start,
It involves 7 Atomic Bombs making Japan a wasteland, and many of our soldiers and british soldiers invading Japan into radioactive places.
