We're not sure about the scen-based maps at the moment, but AI behave however you configure them.Zanghfei wrote:Even if he put Ai, Ai could move anywhere?

Re: Bots Modding
im making an AI mod using a30's first BSP. i want to make the c_dropship im using for spawning go fiying (reducing lag) but when i edit weight it lags out. also there is a problem with red team spawn points. no matter how many i move it still spawns out of BSP.

If you're planning on putting it on Demo, it's illegal. If you persist, expect grief from me.the pillar of autum wrote:im making an AI mod using a30's first BSP.

Re: Bots Modding
you don't need to keep the drop ship around or make it visible. read other AI topics for details.the pillar of autum wrote:im making an AI mod using a30's first BSP. i want to make the c_dropship im using for spawning go fiying (reducing lag) but when i edit weight it lags out. also there is a problem with red team spawn points. no matter how many i move it still spawns out of BSP.
Each spawn point is given a gametype that activates it. Try using only a single spawn point by changing all the other spawn points to gametype "none" in the scnr meta data. This will take a while... Also, make sure that you are using the right spawn point; check its coordinates to see if it is the one you think it is.

Re: Bots Modding
In the meta editor (eschaton) I found something about 'teams'. It says something about changing from 'Covenant' to UNSC or Flood. Does that work?
And is the little guide correct?
1A. Recursively extract the actv of the AI and open and expand the map you want the AI to be on, and select the check button to import the AI (Eschaton)
1B. in vehi tag fill the actv (with the AI I want to appear) and switch its coll to something small, make the seats un-usable then rebuild the map (Eschaton)
2. flip the vehicle over in swordedit and move the blue machinegun warthog out of the map in the same program (SwordEdit)
3. Go under the scnr tag's dependency swapper and choose a scen slot you don't need. Swap in the vehicle that has your AI into that scen slot by changing its type to 'vehi' at the bottom and entering in your vehicle's tag name from the popup menu. (Eschaton?)

Re: Bots Modding
You can change their teams, but only in the scnr tag can you make AI fight on your (all the players') team.

Re: Bots Modding
It's inside Encounters in the scnr tag. You need an encounters chunk first... see my scenario madness to experiment with that.

Re: Bots Modding
The 'teams' thing actually worked. In silent cartographer I switched some aliens from team 'covenant' to team 'player' and it worked. The aliens started fighting the elites, which I switched to team 'player' and the elites didn't attack me.

Cool! Which tag type was that?Yayap the Grunt wrote:The 'teams' thing actually worked. In silent cartographer I switched some aliens from team 'covenant' to team 'player' and it worked. The aliens started fighting the elites, which I switched to team 'player' and the elites didn't attack me.

Re: Bots Modding
bipd, Biped. You click the character you want to modify and then select "Enum 16's" (in starter plugins:bipd.xml) , then "default team" and then you select its team! Hurray for a simple solution!

Re: Bots Modding
Oh, yes, that's fine in single player, but this won't work in multiplayer when making bots on your team.
Ehem... use my plugins instead.
