This is ridiculous.
But I agree with Zangh. This would also be ridiculously epic to an enormous degree. Now please wait while I investigate the creepy creaking noises coming from outside my room...

Where are the health and shield meters? I recognize a compass indicator at the bottom and ammo at the top right, and grenades at the top left.

Check out my mod about this exact item. Not good enough yet, but I've tried a little.
Also, I confirmed that there is no visible health or shield meter, because nothing changes in the show when Ghost gets shot, but it changes when he shoots stuff. It's possible that there is no health meter because it lacks a neural interface link. As for the shield meter, the Bubble Shield appears to engage dynamically, but even then it should have a shield meter because such a shield is still capable of failure.
Note that enemies are marked in yellow on the HUD unlike red as usual.

VERY cool albiet messy.
We'll have to find a place for the shield and health.
The armaments which thunderstrike the walls
And monarchs tremble in their capitals.
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Of lord of thee, and arbiter of war;
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils of Trafalgar.

that hud looks incredible. Maybe you can make the red box around the biped, but not in the hud itself to eliminate alot of scripting

... Did you watch the right vid? This was when humans had developed super-strong BUBBLE SHIELDS and put them in armor.

There no need Health and shield meters.
my idea...
(Health) when is very low, the screen goes very blur on your view.
(Shield) when get hit, you should see small spark on the screen and the "no shield left", it would be BIG SPARKZ or explodes .
(
Me long time no wright in english, please understand me.)

You should try google translate.
And when your shields are low, i think that the word warning should flash in red at the bottom of the visor, indicating that your shields are low, and when you start to lose health, you should hear heavy breathing

Instead of the health low looping sound, make the biped drip blood. Just use the glowing drip tag and make it red particles instead of green ones.
I really like the blurry vision idea too, Zang, nice one.
How about with the Warning flashing text, you get a "warning: shields low" female voice repeating over and over. That would be much better than the shields depleted beeping sound.
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

I believe that in Halo 3:ODST and Halo: Reach campaign, when you get hit when shields are down, your vision gets lots of static for less than a second with a reddish tinge(something like a video transmission with interference). If I'm not wrong, there's an effect in Halo (the second level of Halo Full campaign) where your vision is blurred out and slowly clears, just after you crash-land in the lifeboat.

I'm betting that blur effect is unique to the cinematic cyborg, or is scripted.
