HOCKEY MOD

Post by AzMiRtH » Tue Mar 11, 2008 3:49 pm

could people make the BG like an ice rink?you could make the ground/floor flat with all of the lines on it, and you have 2 weapons ,check as in hitting and you can shoot a puck. you should have the puck be visible for a very small time and it would have a small delay for shooting it, to imatate a real slapshot. And the walls/cliffs could be the ice hockey boards

yeeeaaaa... no. unless you have the BSP, the scenery, the projectile, and the check animations, that will probably be incredibly hard even with CE which is Windows only. maybe on of those incredible modding gods will answer your prayer. :P

It is possible, but probably no one is up to it.

if you didnt mind it would be a LLOTLOTLOTLOT easier to just make the existing bsp ice. sooo it wouldnt be flat. the check, i dont think posble.(except that the AR melee looks like a hockey stick check.) if you were good at modleing you could make a stick.(with ar melee maybe) and if really good at modeling you could make a puck projectile. so this could be done.just with good modeling.

also for many mods like this, there are already CE ONES EXACTLY LIKE WHAT YOU WANT(sorry for caps. didnt mean to) what im saying is that there is prolly already a CE hockey mod.

what i am saying is that you can take BG add water, and alter the water tag a bit, and you have solid water, skin it and you have ice.

why wouldnt you just take something that is already a solid there and skin it... if you put water in BG its not like it is affected by gravity, it wont fall and evenly spread out, water just has a dif coll, making water ice is harder than making something like a platform ice

so you rather have BG covered in blocks than have it all just be water?

no it would be water, i have done it before, you change something in the water tag, and it gives a lot of resistance against the player, so the player does not sink into the water. the whole thing would be solid.
