If Microsoft hadn't bought it though, Halo would be an RTS with pretty shitty graphics and not nearly as much attention. This part of MGM probably wouldn't exist.

False. At a macworld preview they had gone to 3rd Person Shooter.

Even though Microsoft is just a load of bullshit, the Xbox is a surprisingly good console for being made by Microsoft (I wouldn't be surprised if they simply stole it from some other company.) and Halo wouldn't be the same without it being on the Xbox. It certainly wouldn't be as well known and popular.

The Xbox is just a ripped copy of the Ps2, ever look at it they look about the same, they both are in the same market of games. Actually the halo movie they only differences are upgraded GFX which had nothing to do with Megamoney buying them. True the popularity would be less but if they where smart they would release halo for the PC just a lil' after the mac version and then they could drag some big bucks outa' M$.

P.S you took Blurry beta SS's and compared them to released high Res SS's not a good comparison.

Xbox is a craptacular console IMHO.

It's just a computer that's beefy on RAM, GFX and runs pretty fast, but has almost no HD memory (10GB on some models). Take it apart sometime (or just visit xbox-scene). It's all USB cords (yes the controllers are USB), the hard drive is a basic stock model (ATI I think, it even partitions the drive using the C:\, D:\, F:\ scheme. Now that's not to say it doesn't have a decent selection of games or that the price ain't right. Just not a very inventive design and therefor interesting console is all.

On graphics:

Yes but you must remember the massive cult following of Marathon there are still literally thousands of Marathon players, and as it has be remade as a full conversion mod for unreal it will be every more impressive with updated GFX( Halo 1 comparable) more missions and Online play.

Shmexy. Must download. I'm a big fan of marathon, although found the old version somewhat unplayable. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been a great game. I'm just saying it would've been a big fish in a small pond. As much as I hate to admit it, I still think this has validity.

A tad over exaggerated but yes that is true, i have enough games on my mac that there all fun and when one starts losing its touch i move on to another. (i have like 13 or so) I honestly couldn't handle having 40+ games O_O.
