Okay- im super confused!

1. what is a [WIP] <name> mean?
2. what is stock maps?
3. what is bump-maps?
4. how do i edit UI?

ugh i feel so nubish but im so confused reading through the topics here....

WIP = Work in Progress
Stock = unmodified, also known as originals or vanilla maps
Bump maps
UI editing: open UI.map with Eschaton.

questions about UI


why when i import halo/logo thing it always comes out very pixely and hard to read??

and can UI be internalized?

UI bitmaps and sounds can be internalized. The pixelation problem is probably due to the homebrewed DXT compressor that I wrote. You might try using HMT which might have some better results.

HMT fails even more.
I can make a A8R8G8B8 image for you with the same size as the Halo Logo, and you can replace the logo with that. Importing images into an A8R8G8B8 bitmap doesn't compress its quality :)

Remember my hog Amy? How the tires looked bumpy? and the normal ones look flat? That's what bump maps do.

how do i edit bumpmaps- same way as bitmaps?
