Too many youngins...

Post by foxrun » Wed May 10, 2006 12:18 pm

I've noticed many people have got on this board by combining mods and reading the stuff on the halo demo forums. Anyone could mod now if all they did was swap two lines of code. i think projectile swaps, vehi swaps, weapons.... are all to common. there should be a restriction on this... :D
not to say that i didnt copy and paste a little

Yeah but here's the thing. I got in with combining and projectile swaps and vehicle swaps and all that. But as soon as I got in to the Dev Board, I learned so much. Now I know how to meta edit, inject models, edit them, make new skins, and all that stuff. I highly doubt I would have learned all this without the Mod Dev forum.

Don't critisize what you've done.

But really, we should have a higherlevel forum. Not everyone should know how to do this stuff. I know the people I can trust and the ones I cant with the information about modding. I don't want everything to turn out like the PC Demo.
The sword.

So you are suggesting 3 levels.

Level 1: The regular Halo Demo forum where no mod stuff is posted.

Level 2: These Boards for newbies and moderate people.

Level 3: For modders with lots of exp. Where the "big stuff" is posted.

Sounds good. :)

One question: Whos invited to this "Possible new board" (Apart from Deox and sword who will get in no questions asked. )

its probably overrun with cheap mods. and probably most of them are modded in a way to give the host an advantage.

Actually, no it's not too bad. I play it every day in business class. A lot of the games involve log platforms (which are not CSS) and when you teleport to them, it looks like you keep falling but keep getting teleported back up. It's funny because all you see if you look up are vehicles and sniper rifles floating in mid air. But other than that, nothing too modded.

Actually, you're absolutely right. Us Mac users have WAY better mods. PC mods are easier to make, but are usually less complicated. And everyone knows, the more complicated, the more fun! We have Wraiths in Gulch for cryin' out loud! Well, Deox does.
