Drivable Pelican Mod for dummies

I replaced just the c_dropship driver with W and w. Neither of them seamed to do anything. The dropship is really weird. There is this turret like thing of to the side of it which kept killing me (so I made infinite health). Another way to fly dropships would be to swap bitmaps, though that would be cheating.

well.... i'm reporting back :hammer: . I thought i made it right, but i don't know where to enter it :? you probably can't get in it without crazy meta editing map rebuilding auto-magical wands.

Probably, the dropship doesn't seam to be as complete as the pelican. When you were standing next to the flipped pelican it said Press E to flip the Pelican yet the dropship said Press E to flip <need string entry here>. That makes me think the pelican doesn't have a designated spot for the driver to sit too. But I could be wrong.

The dropship also says Press E to flip <need string entry here>. I also notice that there is only ONE c_dropship driver. I took the first 16 bytes from the c_dropship driver from there and replaced it with all the hog ones, The hog has only 8(?) bytes so I replaced all the remaining extra bytes with 0s then I took the c_dropship driver (yes I was sure that it was the right one) and replaced that with the w-driver hex thingy.

Essentially in the end there was only 1 w-driver and all the things that were w-driver now are c_dropship driver. However doing this got strange results. It showed the (not being racist) black guy that says "So ya beat the halo demo... when you quit" is in the driver seat of the Pelcian, the game goes rrreeeallly fast, I appear at the land zone, every single objective then appears, then the thing goes back to the title screen. Huh?

he said that the drop ship said <need string entry here>..

that's basically what i did too (making it into W-Driver) replacing the extra space hex values of 00. that should have worked, i think reaper is right.
