http://aluigi.org/papers.htm -- and especially this page. I'm using the xbox adpcm decoder app to convert xbox adpcm encoded sound tags back to .wav files. I'm hoping to bring this to a PHP script for use with Zeus, where you can upload sounds.map files and playback all the .ogg and xbox adpcm sounds embedded therein, and also playback those files when they are embedded in scenario .map files. This is basically the reverse of what Tool does in converting .wav files to .ogg or xbox adpcm format within the HEK .sound tags.
