Apocalypse Gulch - a mod in progress

Look at my new mod it's called apocalypse gulch

I'll take suggestions to make it better.

Here is a list of the things i think it will have
[x] - done
[] - not done
[/] - needs to be redone

- raining meteorites [x]
- dead things all over [x]
- only human things (weapons, vehicles) [x]
- change the banshee into some kind of human vehicle [x]
- awesome red sky [x]
- no fog at all [x]
- take out the halo in the sky [x]
- Turn the flamethrower into a jetpack [x]
- pelicans/ imported scenery [x]
- warthogs that don't have guns, seat 3 people, and move faster [x]
- glass shields (energy shield with a blue bitmap) [x]
- string changes [x]
- REAL darkness (flashlight/headlights/explosions make light) [x]
- people who don't have the mod will crash upon join [x]
- shelter added (crashed pelicans/log structures) [x]
- Plasma grenades becomes flares [x]
- add more that 6 vehicles []

add more as i think of them

P.s. This mod is not CSS, so it will be released to the public. However, only those with the map will be able to join.

Holy schnikeys batman! consider me impressed, done deal...

talk about chaotic... i look forward to the full release

low gravity would effect the gameplay somewhat, its a crapshoot, it could be frustrating it could be fun... eitehr hitting targets will be easy or it will be hard... Takin out the halo in the sky, sounds interesting...

heres an option, make the gravity higher... so you cant jump nearly as high.. could be an explanation as to why the meteors are falling... heavy gravity field the planet has or watever

make the banshee into a new vehicle... if its even possible...

oh hey you can make the fog black so its less noticeable.. i figured that out today

other than that most all of the things left out would be interesting additions plus, with higher gravity the jetpack would be more needed, since you cant jump as high

all in all sweet work

There is no fog at all, I've tried red fog, black fog, and regular fog... but the clarity makes it look more apocalyptic I think.

oh hey maybe change the planets tints or colors if thats possible... or replace them with something else your first pic threw me off cause it was blue then after that i figured out the sky was black

oh that fog, yeah ive messed with that... i agree, no fog fits very well

i meant the clouds... beyond the cliffs...

yeah, I'm probably going to remove that moon too... or at least do something with it.

good stuff looks fun, id pity the player who joins and doesnt have it... there would be explosions all over and he would die for what seems like no reason lol...

btw question

how much lag does that cause as the player count goes up?

no one will be able to join it without the map.

I'm not sure about lag.

No lag really. I didn't get any. The only thing is that sometimes projectile contrails don't show up because of all the rockets in the sky. That's a computer graphics problem though.

mhmm but i cant imagine it wont cause some lag for joiners... probably just the low end computer ones.... i hope we'll see it enough so that you can join, every once in a while i find one with wall of gulch but not so much forest or darkness... which is unfortunite..

i know how to make it look more apocolyptic... add crashed pelican models around the map and put dead marines and dead spartans everywhere... and also... you could changed the banshee with just a tank...

`maybe putting blood smears around and add random afterglow from fuel rod shots like it was nulear waste from the apocolyptic days.
alsomaybe skin stuff to make it rusty and broken down and have the spartan be skinned to look beaten up. sounds like quite the undertaking good luck!

- low gravity (is that a good idea?) Gravity is for certian objects only, not everything at once. Making the projectiles have low gravity but all the rest normal would be cool in my opinion.
- dead things all over Defentialy, I like the idea of blood spots too.
- only human things (weapons, vehicles) No, make some covanent stuff. You could crash a pelican and a dropship into either base and put stuff from each race around their prospective bases like they crashed there and the stuff fell out.
- change the banshee into some kind of human vehicle No, just remove it all together, or make it destroyed and slow down the speed and take out the secondary fire.
- MAYBE an elite in the cave Not sure what you mean by this?
- awesome red sky The sky totaly rocks! Nice job!
- no fog at all I like the idea of a low fog, light grey kinda like a hazy smoke. And make fire on the bushes too.
- take out the halo in the sky Make it in pieces.
- Turn the flamethrower into a jetpack If you mean like point it at the ground and you fly than No! ack! I hate that.
- Add a stun gun (maybe) A stun gun might be...?

is it rockets you have raining from the sky? i think the longer contrails that the scorpion rockets have would fit better as meteors, also they travel faster

Scorpion bullets travel a little too fast. You already get hit enough. And the rockets already have scorpion contrails. At least from what I saw in game.
