DART aka Disable Alpha Render Targets on Mac Halo
Yo anyone know how to Disable Alpha Render Targets or w.e it is on Mac Halo? I know its possible because someone walked this mac player Demi (who used to play KW and HPT) through it. You have to open up Terminal on mac and put in some codes to make it look like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHtw_nCfqhw Keep in mind there is no config on Mac halo

If you want to get rid of the scope blur:
Halo Full: http://www.mediafire.com/?n5ymm2zzwdz (you will need PPFMaster or such to apply the PPF to the bitmaps.map, make sure your original is backed up)
Halo Demo: http://www.halodemomods.com/wiki/Mod_Da ... Scope_Blur
I've a feeling I've told you about this many times..

Re: DART aka Disable Alpha Render Targets on Mac Halo
No null lol, thank you and i know ive asked about this before but its not the disable scope blur or anything like that. I would honestly think that some of the Mac Modders could figure this out for Halo or Halo Demo, this doesnt only disable a blurry scope it makes everything extremely shiny in the mac game and enhances the graphics. This is simply done in a config.txt file on PC but on Mac it has to be done with certain files in the Console. DeMi said he would send me the files but he only talks to me on newCH cause he has no xfire or AIM. I really wonder if there is any file in Demo or FV that lists out your graphics card and things like that such as a config file on Halo PC.

It isnt a bitmap, its just a change in the games text or something "commands"

oh. uhm, hold control or command (I can't remember which one sorry) when it boots up, and choose either "no shaders" or "vertex shaders"
That should get rid of that anyways.

you didn't try what I said, that disables cubemaps, which is what you seem to want to do.

Nope. He wants to do the opposite! He wants to have everything over-shiny!
I've tried looking into the config file and… sadly i have no idea of where this could go or be used.
This is the config file found in the description of the first video he posted. See if you guys can make head or tails of it?

well, knowing halo mac, it's probably in the shader files.

Re: DART aka Disable Alpha Render Targets on Mac Halo
So extra shiny graphics would be achieved by disabling the cube maps? The way deMi has it he says that it increases the brightness of everything which makes it look more like Halo PC. If youve ever played Mac FV and Halo PC you know the very visible changes in "textures and shadowing" that im talking about

No sorry, disabling cubemaps won't make it shinier, I'm just stupid.
Uhh, the only ways I know could work would have to be with a map change.

Re: DART aka Disable Alpha Render Targets on Mac Halo
Okay, at least removing blur scope isn't completely un-related.
I have no idea if it is possible on Mac (I am pretty sure Halo Mac does not use a config.txt file).
I'm not exactly sure what disabling alpha render targets is, but if I were to guess render targets are used for adding effects and possibly shaders, which means disabling alpha render targets disables this process only for objects that have an alpha level (thinking about the scope blur, this seems like a reasonable guess). So if this is the case, it is sounds debatable and of opinion that disabling this is "better." (just like some will prefer the blur in the scope).
The no-scope blur modification I post above simply nulls the alpha effect in the bitmap. Going by this, it may be possible to do this for all objects in the bitmaps file and get a similar (perhaps not exact) effect to what you want (except for saving performance because the post-processing would still kick in). Who knows.

So could we give this a go Null? Ive been searching for a way to do this for probably about 2-3 years... :Lnil wrote:Okay, at least removing blur scope isn't completely un-related.
