Voters in Puerto Rico have supported a non-binding referendum to become a full US state.

The measure will require approval from the US Congress, but President Barack Obama has said he will respect the vote.

The island is currently a US territory, which uses the dollar and whose citizens travel on US passports.

I wonder what this will mean culturally to Puerto Ricans...and how Congress will expand to accomodate the new seats O_o

Millions of nonexistent government money replacing flags with 51 stars :p. but I just finished my collection of the us gold quaters for the 50states :/.

wouldn't it be better to cut out little white stars and sew them on existing flags? I mean, like... cost-wise?
