Hey, HDM needs a prettier homepage, but so does MGM. Any suggestions?

I suggest dropping the adjective "pretty."

I suggest fantabulous instead.

, many people use images on their web sites; but I don't like images unless they are streamlined in their integration with the behavior of the web site. If not, then they just add clutter to the interface. The metallic border on MGM was something I liked about MGM since it started after Monoman's older PlanetRainbowSix Gamespy website.

Sparky, I'm sorry, the homepage is as good as is. You don't like it then use the image I provided.

1. Improve MacGamingMods home page

2. Expand the amount of new and more importantly, consistent, members on the forums

3. go out and absorb smaller, less frequented modding websites (i.e. Moddz.webs.com

4. COMPLETALY OVERHAUL the HaloDemoMods website, and add increased interconnections and connectivity with MacGamingMods.
I think we should consider the user process when they are visiting the site. Most search for information right away, but the search function of HDM's wiki needs to be more useful; pages need to be better organized. People who don't search first post first, but they don't search first only because they don't see any evidence of (link to) their desired information or topic already; the homepages need to be more user-friendly.

Regarding integration, we could put an inline frame on the HDM wiki page that is MGM's RSS feed for the Halo forums. This would probably best be placed under the Latest News or main homepages; or it would stand alone as a link in the navigation menu at left. When we were brainstorming ideas for the HDM homepage back when the site began, the practice of placing both MGM and HDM on the same page as iframes was not very nice.

I never thought of HDM as much as a wiki as a place to download crap.

Sparky, this is where my ideas come in, because if you remember all of my ideas, you would see how this makes it much more of a true Wiki.
