Hey guys it's OpTic here. The Original one. Anyways man I have not been on this site in sooooooooooo long. I just stopped by to let you guys know that Clan Halo has returned! The forums are up and running. However, the main site is still being worked on. So if you still play halo demo on mac or halo full on mac come join us. We welcome everyone!

This is not going to work.

It's not really a new clanhalo either, it just looks like some spin-off. The website is lacking a lot.

Here's some things to consider though:
1. Halo Demo is outdated and no longer functional, although we were looking into it, but no progress has been made since.
2. Halo Full for Mac is not easily accessible. Even if it were, you'd have a better chance finding another Halo PC league out there.
3. Designing a stat system that actually works isn't easy, nor are there systems easily providable for you (remember, I was developing CD's stat system at the time, so i would know).
4. Clanhalo died due to lack of interest for Halo Demo... Not many still care about Halo Demo as much as in the past, and see point 1.

Anyways like what was explained to some of the older players... I had a free domain from this other that I brought for something else. So instead of letting it go to waste I decided to use it for this. I have it for a year. Its called a test and trial. If it turn out good then I will keep it. If not I will end around this time next year.
As far as I know, No one had any issues with that. Disrespect is not needed.

No, just extremely cynical.

You do realize how long it has been, right?
And that there are now 5 iterations of Halo (approaching 6 later this year and 7 is already planned).
And that all of them outside of Halo 1 are for Xbox (H2PC I really don't count).
And that Halo Mac is extremely unsupported, and without Custom Edition the longevity is miniscule compared to PC.
And that even on this site only a tiny, tiny, fraction of the original people remain.
And that even on this site (the irony) a lot of us play either on PC or on Bootcamp mainly.
And that a million other FPS games have come out that people are playing.
And that a billion other games have come out that people are playing.

I really don't want to be mean, but surely you cannot simply ignore these facts. That and almost nobody here on MGM was a huge member over on Clan Halo anyway. It really doesn't help your campaign too much, I'm sorry to say...

Rest assured, if I could fund it I would absolutely advertise a Mac Gaming Mods or Clan Halo user reunion on every possible site I could in order to bring back some of the people I once knew, if only for a few days or weeks. That is the only way I can think of doing it effectively. But god would that cost a lot of money. Or I could write a virus to stealthily infect sites and then replace all ads on every site with the message once it reaches critical mass. If only.

Mr. Clanhalo respresentitive, I personally would love nothing more, as stated above by drac, to bring back the love and fun and communities we once had. However, as stated above, it's not going to happen, I've tried, we've all tried to.

Your wasting your money keeping that site up, just saying. This forum spans many subjects, games and hobbies, therefor keeps it's need to stay up, along with the straggling members that keep coming back like a bad case of herpes.

Not being rude, being realistic besides, once people update to lion, Halo will not run on it, besides, PC servers are full of aimbots and lag. srsly, i can't find a good server now-a-days.

I actually don't really agree much with draconic74. Halo Demo grew quite a successful community up until only a couple years ago. The reasons, despite it being outdated even back then, were because many knew about Halo, it's a free game, it's a *Mac* game (i.e, not PC), it had a strong community backed up people who knew what they were doing (clanhalo members). The fact that there are many other games out there, people play on their PCs a lot, there are new Halo's, does not actually matter.

These parts I agree mostly with though. Halo Mac is *extremely* unsupported, even more so than a couple years back, as I've already mentioned in my post above. The Custom Edition, however, does not help the longevity of the game. Perhaps to a modder's perspective, but definitely not to a competitive player's perspective, where the competitive atmosphere in Custom Edition has just never grew high for all the time it has existed.

Yes, as Fonzie said, one big thing about Halo was it was the absolute best Mac FPS for a long time running, with our modding communities pumping out content, discovering new things, and not having much competition from AAA and free titles. There was nothing at the time that could compare. But consoles eventually became fairly cheap, some of us moved, whether intentionally or not, to Windows, and others had lives to actually live. Some of us just dropped out for no reason.

Why not instead list the reason that we all found Halo Demo in the first place? That should be interesting. It started when I swapped to Mac. I bought one game. ONE game on my Mac that I purchased. None of the many games for PC I had could be used (ok, I actually had two then, because Starcraft still worked although I didn't know that at the time). I went scouring the Apple Application Store thingy that was on their site back then looking for free stuff. I eventually came across Halo Demo, and having played both Halo 1 and 2 extensively on my friend's Xbox I immediately snapped it up. I started seeing servers with "mod" in the name, and I knew a bit about it. On PC, I had modified some insanely basic things (loading screen splash art ftw) and liked seeing my mark on a game that I was never originally part of.

And that led me here. And here I have been for years and years. On and off for the last few years, especially due to me getting a Wii, then Xbox360, then actually buying Mac games. As much as I hate to say it, Steam was a godsend. Also, most of the people I knew are gone. I still remember some names, and I wish I knew how to contact them. But alas, AIM is no longer used, the IRC never caught on back then and the friends on Skype seem to be never online. Amazingly I managed to get a few of you, like Fonzie, on all of those, and even on Facebook (which I now realize its been months since I checked) and Xbox LIVE. It's kind of funny though, because Adium is still in my Dock, despite not having opened it in months. Would never have come back to the site either, if not for talking to Taxiservice on Steam Chat and Monoman in the IRC when I accidentally clicked on Colloquy (can you imagine, that is ALSO still in my Dock).

I think I tend to agree with this; granted, it was a couple of years ago now that Halo Demo was really in it's prime, but when it was, Halo Demo had quite the vibrant community. And in some ways, I had more fun on Halo Demo than I've ever had on the Xbox 360.
