I installed the latest OS X Yosemite Update, and I now can connect to the chat.

when you play look to see if a green + amount on bottom of screen pops up. Those add up to stars(displayed as a bar). The points have broken often, but Samuco fixed them and I think they are fine now. Make sure green xp not showing 1st, if that doesn't work maybe try reinstalling v4.

The DDOSing has intensified since Samuco moved the servers to Australia. The 2 Australia [Atom] servers are routinely losing connection with everyone in the server, causing everyone to have to quit. Every lost connect to Atom's australia v4 server 3x in 2 hr. I don't know if it is from someone DOSing it, but it is suspicious that they might be doing it again to that server.
