How do I change HUD and the AR counter numbers?

OK, so i saw a tutorial in the closed tutorials section, but it just said "go to ui/hud/bitmaps bla bla bla, wtf are this? I opened up the ui in eschaton, and there wasnt a path like that, same with bloodgulch, so how do I get that? Also I'm working on a mod with some weapons, but since Incyclopedia isnt finished and for some reason my G4 wont let HMT/HHK import models and stuff , could someone give me a map with the following already imported? I just need the models, effects, and animations I'll do the metaing myself. You would ofcourse get credit for importing them helping me most of the actual work and modeling if you did some.

H3 AR
Assault Carbine (BR without the scope)
SMG
Silenced SMG (like in Halo ODST/Recon)
Magnum revolver
H3 Magnum
a model of the HL2 Gravity gun, I know how to meta one
the X7 from Sparky's Icegulch mod
some kind of heavy machine gun
oh and Al Capwn, I saw that flamethrower skin you made for the MGM WC, could I pleeeeeeeeeez use that? IT AR FECKIN BADASSOME!

Sure, I'll just release the bitmap in the bitmaps thread. As for the AR counter, there's an app on HDM that lets you do that. And as for the HUD, you're gonna need to be more specific.

For aspects of the hud specific to each weapon, wphi
For editing text, ustr
For editing all aspects of text other than the text itself (along with buttons and menus), DeLa (not worth getting itno if you're not good with meta)
For the little box with the nades in it, grhi
For meters (health and shields), metr
For editing the images that appear in the HUD directly, bitm (duh!)
For anything else, hudg

Things not to fuck with:

Soul
hmt (OMG THREE CHARACTERS AUAAUGAHAHGHHAAAAAAAAA) although technically there's a space after it that does not appear in the other tags. but still.

but how do I skin weapons? and change the thing that sais "prez "insert random key" to pick up "insert random gun"? like the photo of the gun? and what aplication would I need to edit the skins? I have paintbrush right now but thats it. And im not paying insert random espensiv prices for photoshop.

P.S. I has windblows if I need it too

always explore, then when you come up with nothing come here... that way we don't get shizz like "HOW MAKEZ BIPD JUMP UBERHI" all the time. Plenty of tutorials out there too... if you don't have any download fonzies modding pack

It's all in bitmaps. Except for colors. You can do that by editing the colorbytes.

Here is how you do bitmap modding:
Step 1: Find what you want to edit.
Step 2: Export it (DO NOT EXTRACT).
Step 3: Edit the extracted image (do not mess with the image mask, if there is one).
Step 4: Import the edited file (do not inject).
Step 5: Internalize!

What does internalizing it do? And how do I do it? watch it be something super obvious...

Internalizing makes it so you don't need the bitmap file to see the changes. Expand your map, hit internalize bitmaps, click the bitmaps you changed, then hit internalize.

No your just lazy. There are readily available and using a simple Apple+F function built in to every mac you can search all of the tutorials in any given folder. Just download this unless you're too lazy too and apple+f the tutorial folder. You can use any kind of image editing software such as Photoshop which you have to pay for, or some of my favorites; Chocoflop, LiveQuartz, and Seashore which are all free to use/try.

So i have a life and i have read Hundreds of tuts and spend most of my time editing them for more useful things.
However The Making AI Better tut made my Bipds hold their guns between their legs? WTF!
