I get the crashing problem, I guess i'll try the quit every time, (good thing it doesn't take long to open O.O) Also I don't know if anyone else does it like I do but you guys should see my setup on how I back things up. Heya Sword, Love Swordedit, just have one complaint, its probably the best mac modding tool that will come out and it is putting mac modding up there with PC modding but my only complaint is that all the hex things we always were working to find out have been done for us :S so in a way its a good omen and a bad one because no-one... ever... will need to use hex again
No offense intended, I am just stating this, not telling you to take it down or whatever... coz I like it ALOT!

I do the same thing but I backup EVERYTHING in a folder.Kayar wrote:I have a folder labeled "backup maps" where I keep handy a normal UI, bitmaps, bloodgulch, and b30, along with one backup of whatever mod I'm currently working on. I also still have the .dmg for Halo Demo in my Halo Demo folder.
Also have the .dmg.

There is still some hex use floating around. I know I use it every now and again for little and large changes.Lewbylew wrote:Heya Sword, Love Swordedit, just have one complaint, its probably the best mac modding tool that will come out and it is putting mac modding up there with PC modding but my only complaint is that all the hex things we always were working to find out have been done for us :S so in a way its a good omen and a bad one because no-one... ever... will need to use hex again

i can and i know how to get around this problemSparky wrote:Can anyone comment?Sparky wrote:Once I save a map in SwordEdit, any further modifications that I make to it in SwordEdit destroy the map.
quit and reopen swordedit BEFORE modding it a second time
its so simple but a bit time consuming if u test out your maps a lot
After further testing, the following is possible:
1. Open a new bloodgulch.map file in SwordEdit.
2. Edit.
3. Save, but don't quit.
4. Play the map in Halo Demo.
5. Switch back to SwordEdit, edit the map and save.
6. New game of same map in Halo Demo.
7. Repeat 5 and 6 until the map is how you want it. This should be fine, as long as SwordEdit is open.
8. Quit SwordEdit.
9. Open your map in SwordEdit.
10. Edit.
11. Save only once per SwordEdit session, according to the advice mentioned in previous posts here. If you save more than once per SwordEdit session now, the map will be ruined.
Alternatively, Save & Quit instead of just Save when using SwordEdit.

Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.
