Although map rebuilding is off-topic (

), I have a question: is there any way to cut the process in half by only needing to write the values once (ie, in "one fell swoop")? For example, while the application is open, save all the changes and their offsets to a temporary file (which could become a patch file) and then write them upon map rebuild / save ? Not that it goes fast enough as it is, but I'm into optimization. While this may prohibit modification by other apps while the main app is open, perhaps it could check to see if the values had changed already.

Will we be able to further modify our old saved swordedit maps with the fixed version of swordedit, or will we need to remake them using the new swordedit?

we did, well its untested, but the guy with the cat with the machine gun avy (forgot his name sorry) did figure out how to get by it, you have to quit swordedit after you save

I've tried that method, and it only allows you to play the map a second time. You're supposed to leave the application open after you save it, play in Halo Demo, and then wait for Sword's fix that lets you change the file again... just kidding

I dunno about anyone else, but currently I've saved my map every time I've used Swordedit on it, and it's worked every time.

do you save and then test it and then mod some more or do you save then quit then test it and then re-open it and then mod some more?

For me it crashes every time I hit save, but other than that there's no problem (it saves fine and I can re-open it and modify it more).
