Hey all,
I took a look around MGM and halomods.org and I couldn't find anything resembling this: maps from the Halo campaign mode (or any other maps) that have no Covenant, but instead have a small amount of marines that, when killed, respawn and increase in numbers.
I used to do this with the old Marathon games - create a multiplayer game with a lot of bobs (marines) and get them pissed at me by killing them, and seeing how long I could survive as they multiplied and hunted me down. It was ridiculous amounts of fun, massacring hordes of bobs with the napalm launcher while they yelled things like "what are you doing?!" and "you killed him!"
Does anyone know if anything like this has been done in the past, or how it could be done?

Some of the things you want to do can only work using the HEK (basically halo's forge and anvil) which is PC only. Scenario type editing of that magnitude is just on the horizon with some research by conure into script injection, but until that's simple and easy to do, we're stuck with more primitive methods. AI respawning in general involves hack-arounds.

The Covenant VS Human mod didn't work for me. When I put the bloodgulch.map file into my maps folder, it appeared greyed out in my Halo game when I was selecting a map for a new lan game. I tried to convert it with Harbinger just incase, but it gave the usual error.
I have the full version of Halo, if it matters.
