What if we don't have a category? What if we just say, "Best Mod of the Month, May 2011"?

If not, my vote was on AI...
I think that would be too difficult to vote upon, since people could have several favorites for different reasons. I think the best method would be to have a general category and then vote based upon the category. This way, people are more willing to make a different mod each month, and the voting is less personal and more objective.

Yes, and you have to start with either Bloodgulch or The Silent Cartographer as your base map. You can't use any other existing tags, whether from Halo Full or Halo CE; all changes to those two maps must be done specifically for the contest of the month.

You CAN import any sounds and images, but they should not be from existing tags in Halo Full or CE. And you can use any program you want, but it can't involve Halo Full, Halo Custom Edition or the Halo Editing Kit.

Yeah, that's pretty much the 800-pound gorilla in the room...

Virtual recognition is the prize. Winner gets a cookie... a picture of a cookie.

Hall of Fame and cookies. What more could you ask for? Certainly not money!

Bah, recognition is overrated. I was hoping for a baby in a jar.

Use a base map for AI like Dueling grounds.

No idea how you'd rank them though o.o

If you enter it into the competition, then only the relevant theme will be considered.

I'm releasing my bitmaps and sounds collection resource map/tags that can be used for this. I'm about halfway done, so Sunday or Monday it should be out. That leaves ~15 days to mod with that stuff, besides other modifications. I'm using the HEK-Eschaton setup to build the tags in this collection, but since it's public here, there's no advantage, so anyone can use them for this competition or otherwise. All the images are 1024x1024, so you can also import the pictures into an existing bitmap of the same size, and duplicate it, in case you want to use that method instead.

Lol, i don't know. I'm a bit rusty with AI modifications. In fact i voted for a weapon contest.

But you know what? Why don't we do an overall best mod? We should set some general guidelines, like:

The mod could be either a single player mod, an AI-fighting multiplayer mod or a multiplayer mod.
In either case, you can add your own vehicles, weapons, bipeds, AIs (not in the last case) and anything you can think of, and the overall best one wins!

…Or we could have winners by category, that would probably make more sense. :-\

I propose we should be able to use any converted Full bsp to our maps, (even whole converted SP levels as a base map for the SP level category).

Then we must elect a judge and let they declare the winning mod.
(The judge should not participate in the contest, or be honest enough not to elect their own mod as the winning one if there are better ones)
…Also we should have a community-vote-based prize in conjunction with the judge-based prize. (>implying prizes)

and i forgot the point i was making?

Pardon me, but I don't think you two are the only ones here who know how to make good AI. :o

I voted for AI.

I had made some "good" sniper AI back when I was still modding...
I might have to give that a go again in winbloze.

gah once I made a beast campaign mod with crazzy ass Marines and doped up grunts and steriod-enhanced Elites and super rapidfire and moving hunters. I miss halo modding.
