You can do more in Forge than you can in Sword Edit. And the only limitations I can think of is the Money and the amount of things for each item.

Sush? And what else is there? And I'm talking about Halo: Reach's not Halo 3's.
Oh yeah! Also the limitation of what you can place on the map. In SwordEdit you can place anything on the map. In Forge, only the stuff that's on the Forge list. But again, Forge's list is SOOO long (at least in Forge World, Tempest also has a lot though), I wouldn't understand wanting TOO much more.

Hey man. I remember really enjoying your Twilight mod back before that meant zombies and vampires and stuff like that.

I offer this advice. Don't learn a language, learn how to program. Don't get stuck in a single paradigm (OO, procedural, functional), learn them all. Most importantly, learn how to design. A few hours planning beforehand saves days/weeks in the long run.

Also nil fyp.

Nope.
Why did you come back if all you post is bullshit like this?
Swordedit has a theoretically infinite list of items, so i don't see how that's any part of your argument.
The only thing that is better about Forge is the Reach engine itself, Allowing multiple map variants, the ability to test the map out at the same time, all these things aren't possible in Halo CE
Halo 3's Forge was good for the most part when things like Sandbox came out, they just didn't have the right tools to do what they've done in Reach.

Wow...Modzy...Zap...Shadow. Even you Sword, you old codger.

It's incredible you guys are still around...and im thrilled at the activity here...its amazing that there's still such a great influx of modders here.

Thanks to those I don't know for their advice as well, and helping an old bat like myself back into the swing of things. From what I got;

Python
C
Objective C
Cocoa
BASIC

are pretty good places to start. From what most of you say, Python is the place to go so far as very basic. I think I'll start there. As for me staying and modding......college is life is pretty busy guys. But you never know, I think I might float around the boards to see whats going on nowadays.

Who knows, maybe ill take a crack at a mod or two while im at it :)

Well Hi Mota!

Glad to see the collective is still going. Always good to see an old familiar face.

On another note, I've started my endeavors to learn Python, and am already on chapter two of Pythons guide for beginners...right now, all pretty straightforward...I think the only think im having trouble understanding is why it has to use an Integer division system for operators and operands...the rounding down thing seems highly inaccurate for precision computations.

Then again, the programmers expected to know the math involved, so...

yeah.

It does integer division if you only use integers. For example, 4 / 3 = 1, but 4.0 / 3.0 produces a floating-point 1.33333333333.. and 4 / 3.0 or 4.0 / 3 produces that floating-point as well.

I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!
