Please update the links page. I know there are more sites out there; if you know of any others, please include them!

Re: HDM
what is your e-mail address?
EDIT: Updated all the email address spam settings to have the strictest values. The spam, if it appears, should get placed inside the Junk folder.
If you still get spam, post the offending email addresses here and I'll blacklist them manually for you.

Why did all my mods in the Mod Database get deleted?

Re: HDM
Because you absolutely must not link a mod on the page by using an external website such as filefront. See the uploading rules on the discussion page of the mod database page (if lost, just look at the top of the mod database page and it should be kind of obvious where the upload rules are).Bozzy wrote:Why did all my mods in the Mod Database get deleted?
Just for reference:

After years of fighting The Coventant, the UNSC finished the fight and ended the war using Spartan 117, or Master Chief, to defeat them. Now, with the Master Chief in a deep sleep, it's up to the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, or ODSTs, to search the island and destroy the new human enemies with not only Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, and ODST weapons, but also Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 weapons.

CSS: Semi, if someone joins the hosted map, they will not look like ODSTs but still have the silenced SMG and silenced pistol, and if you join a server instead, everyone will look like ODSTs with silenced pistols and SMGs to you.
<blockquote>
ODST Gulch is an attempt to make an ODST-style Bloodgulch. When this mod is activated, all other players turn into ODSTs as well as yourself. You spawn with the silenced SMG and silenced pistol. Also, this mod is a new type of mod called 'YCJ' or "You can join" meaning if you join a server instead of hosting one, the mod still works. Everyone will be ODSTs with the silenced weaponry but only on your screen.

I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!
Re: HDM
Bozzy, there are two main reasons for this. First, not everyone has access to those external web sites. Second, most hosting sites like Filefront and Mediafire will remove those files after a period of time with or without your permission. It is thus a much better choice to upload those files to HDM's wiki.
I know the uploading method stinks at the moment, and there is no progress indicator while a file is uploading. What you could do instead, then, is to upload the file via ftp to HDM (see the first posts here with info about that... I'll publish that info at HDM at some point...) and then use that file link to upload immediately to the wiki. All you need is a free ftp program like cyberduck.
Take care.

Re: HDM
My Macbook is wireless though, Mgalekgolo, Sparky, and 2310. Wireless is way slower than wired connection. Uploading to HDM is impossible for me.
When I upload, I click the upload button and nothing happens. So I left it there for a couple hours. Nothing happened. Where as Filefront got
my file uploaded in about a half an hour.

Re: HDM
Use the FTP method, then link to the uploaded file with the wiki upload page; it will be instantaneously added.
viewtopic.php?p=134692#p134692
Add the files to the "wiki upload" directory, which is pruned every few weeks.

Re: HDM
I updated HDM's wiki software to version 1.16.0. The search feature seems more robust and I changed the default skin to Vector, which you also see on Wikipedia.

Re: HDM
I added a new section in the main modding tutorial for Networking. Please check this over and see if any other details need to be included.
I only commented upon Marathon, Halo 1 and Halo 2 net code.
