I think what makes a computer unstable is when you directly copy your hard drive from a PPC to an Intel. No, seriously. Why else would my Utilities not work? And why does Firefox crash instantly? And why does Safari crash constantly? And why does *crash*

I would think so. But then where are you going to install it? Over the current operating system that is installing things to the HD? Obviously that won't work. I think it would have to do with partitioning the hard drive or something. Maybe someone else has more info, I have pretty much no experience with this stuff.

However, if I understood what I have read, couldn't it be possible to install 10.5 to the partition, then somehow move the files over, then use 10.5 to delete the other OS. However, does the original OS become the "parent", in which case only the partition could be deleted. Meh... I don't know.

You'd be able to mount it, but that's it. You wouldn't be able to install it. You'd have to either burn it to a DVD or Carbon-Copy the image to an external drive/hard drive partition and boot from the copied image.
