How to fix Hosting (worked for me)

For all those people that just can't seem to host no matter what.

Monoman if this works for other people can you sticky it please?

First Go to Network in System Preferences:

Then go to Advanced
Image

Then go to ICP/IP tab and remember YOUR NUMBER
Image

Open up halo demo holding the Apple/Command Button.
Image

Imput number and you should be able to host!
Image

PS. Make sure you have firewall of in Security ¬_¬

OK! Instead of letting all connections in, just let Halo Demo through. ¬_¬ And for the people that said for the screen at the beginning of Halo to never come up again, just hold down command k when it starts up.

EDIT: Oh yeah... You hold down K when you want to re-enter your serial number for full. <_<

DOUBLEDIT: And it doesn't work for me anyway. >_>

i allowed incoming connections to halo and i did what you said

im not sure the ports are avialible on your router

all incoming connections dosnt do anything bad.... it actually makes my internet go faster and i download files faster too.

This worked for my cousin though.

Same here except... I can host on Halo PC and Halo for mac (i think for mac idk) but not for halo CE. I can host for halo 2 vista too.

I was told it would work if you just allowed access to Halo Demo in the firewall settings.

But if you are using DSL or a router, you might need to open the two specific port numbers. There's usually a setting you can modify in your browser by going to a specific url like 198.0.0.1.

yeah you have to do portforwarding, its the same concept for port forwarding for torrents just change the thing to Halo.
