5. nope

6. only those i read in the papers, otherwise done

7. perfectly fine

1. How many gaming consoles do you own? (If you own a computer and use it for gaming purposes, include it)
two

2. How many hours would you say per week do you put into playing video games?
probably 24, to be honest

3. How many hours do you put into playing violent video games? (some researchers classify violence in video games as an instance in which a character physically hurts or kills another character, whether there is blood or not, while others may classify violence in video games strictly as including killing with blood. Please use your own judgment, but if unsure give an explanation of what kind of violence is in the game)
12 hours? likely less.

4. How many T-Rated or higher games do you own which have that rating due to violent content?
probably... 4
5. Do you believe yourself to be a violent person?
not especially. Occasionally.

6. Do you know someone who has been convicted for an act of violence and who plays or has played violent video games?
no

7. Would you say that violence in video games today is excessive, perfectly fine, or not enough?
it's fine. video games do not make people.

8. Thailand has a top ten list of its most dangerous video games, said to be too violent, and has banned these games from the country. Do you believe such a list is necessary for public safety?
no

9A. Are you over the age of 21?
no
9B. If not, would you be surprised to learn that the average gamer is 35 years old and has been playing video games for over 13 years?
a little, but it makes sense.
count that as a yes

10. Have you ever committed violence against another human being or had the intention to?
yes

11. Would you rather play a video game that encourages violence or one that encourages social activity?
depends on what you mean by social activity.
violence is different from the normal world. Video games are usually supposed to be different from the normal world.
therefore
a videogame about the real world
would... either fail epically or win in the same way.

lets say

violence.

6. Do you know someone who has been convicted for an act of violence and who plays or has played violent video games?

8. Thailand has a top ten list of its most dangerous video games, said to be too violent, and has banned these games from the country. Do you believe such a list is necessary for public safety?

I used to own an NES and Super NES, but now I just have my Mac.

2. How many hours would you say per week do you put into playing video games?

This varies based upon the time of year, but usually either alot (more than 10 hours) or not at all (0 hours). (I'm not good at spending my time in moderation.)

3. How many hours do you put into playing violent video games? (some researchers classify violence in video games as an instance in which a character physically hurts or kills another character, whether there is blood or not, while others may classify violence in video games strictly as including killing with blood. I have recently only played Halo Demo for the most part, so let's say about 5 hours per week.

4. How many T-Rated or higher games do you own which have that rating due to violent content?

Two, although many of the games I play are demos that I didn't actually buy. Including these, I'd say about 12.

5. Do you believe yourself to be a violent person?

Not at all, and I don't actually enjoy the violence in video games.

6. Do you know someone who has been convicted for an act of violence and who plays or has played violent video games?

No, but I know people who are constantly anxious who play violent video games.

7. Would you say that violence in video games today is excessive, perfectly fine, or not enough?

Excessive. There are not enough non-violent games that are fun and well-advertised.

8. Thailand has a top ten list of its most dangerous video games, said to be too violent, and has banned these games from the country. Do you believe such a list is necessary for public safety?

No. I believe it is more important to restrict these games to mature audiences - limiting them to people who are more likely to exhibit self-controlled behavior.

9A. Are you over the age of 21?

Yes.

9B. If not, would you be surprised to learn that the average gamer is 35 years old and has been playing video games for over 13 years?

10. Have you ever committed violence against another human being or had the intention to?

Yes, when I was a child.

11. Would you rather play a video game that encourages violence or one that encourages social activity?

I would rather play a video game that encourages social activity while providing an environment allowing for creativity.

Thank you for taking my survey!

Self defense... That nerve on the back of the leg... Much weakness.

Games like Halo, that are multiplayer, but still a mix of violence too.

No Problem. Even though I'm late. XD

Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the survey, you've helped me a TON. Cookies for everyone. Also, I wanted to say that anyone who posted their response after Monday, you weren't too late. Monday I turned in my rough draft, or, more accurately I brought my rough draft to school with me and briefly placed it in view of my teacher. Turns out he accepted it as a homework grade, a simple whether-you-did-it-or-not grade. The final draft, however, is due Friday, thus I have time still to add finishing touches, including latest survey results. I'm updating my results tonight and tomorrow night, and then survey deadline will be up. On another note, my essay rocks, and I'll probably post it up here for you all when its done and has been graded. You deserve to see what you helped make. We'll see how it holds up to the grading process...
