Re: Why are we here?
Mine is quite similar to Fonzie.
Started off playing Halo at a mediocre level, playing nooby mods, etc. Joined a few clans (that's how I got to CH) then I ran into Dusty. At first I was just a mod critic at CH, but I gradually got interested. Dusty gave me Eschaton and him and Taz (I totally forgot him until now 0.o) walked me through some basic modding. Then Dusty convinced me to come here, I met Fonzie, Mota, Taxi, Moxus, Fuel etc. and I'm here.

Re: Why are we here?
I came because i had been wanting to put my own models into games...I found this site first and thought... hey ...why not halo? Soon after I had a goal to replicate Halo 3 onto Halo 1, however after seeing many mods, and CE had already achieved it, I realized...I was L337 n00b. So, I went back to modeling and UV mapping on my maya program, soon realizing... wait... is making a new master chief is possible?! This in turn drove me to start Halo 1 Recon. During the time I first found this site, I met Mr. Mods, and got into the forum more. then realizing...Hey! maybe these people will wanna make a Machinima group... Needless to say that hasn't gone exactly as planned... but then I met fonzie and got one hell of a jump start.
I admit, most of you are very childish pains in the ass, or just aggroant pains in the ass....But a select few have kept me on this site. And for that I thank you.

Re: Why are we here?
If there was the ability to choose two options, I would.
I am here because I am a gamer who wishes in the future to hopefully work for a developer. Someday. Most likely only as a writer, though I want to learn scripting as well and get into that more. I'm creative, and I've always wished for the ability to take a game and create anything and everything I could ever want in it. With this in mind I have made my maps. Also, I have met some very good friends, and I will remember you all forever [/corny]. I want to continue working with Fonzie and Jester Bros. All in all, I enjoy being on these forums, even if at times I seem like a grumpy ass.
I follow the path presented to me, with a few modifications.

Re: Why are we here?
I am here because of sword's "Melee Only Mod", which I ran into him hosting way back in 2006. He said the mod was online, and after a bit of Google searching, I found this website. Been a great fan of modding ever since. :D

Re: Why are we here?
I came here because there wasnt enough mods on the main page, so I checked out the forum if there are any good mods... And then there was. So I joined. Then got into modding... and Now im out.

Changed my name to cQuence... Im still Shockwav tho.

Re: Why are we here?
I read an article in the Magazine "Macworld" from 2003 (why we had those? Idk...)
I was like Halo? I've heard that game is okay...
So i downloaded it on my old dyeing emac but it kept crashing
so i later got a new comp and tried it again... it worked
i was pretty happy
i would go over to my friend's house and play PC mods
i figured out about this site and download a hell of a lot of mods
my favorite (and still remains) was Kayar's Sacred Grove
I played that one non stop
yada yada yada
found fonzie's mod pack (my original eschaton didn't work right D:)
screwed with D-swappa
got into simple but awesome CSS modding
found the awesome community of people (Kayar, Jacob, Fonzie)
so yup, thanks all ^-^
