I've only been playing guitar for a year but I mean I've had musical experience before that

Nah, man. Guitar ain't good for me. I had one that I picked up in a thrift shop for a while but I gave it away >_>
And yeah! You are pretty good. I'm just a drummer.
What did you play before?

I played (and still do) play bass before guitar. I've always wanted to be able to play drums, but I have no sense of rhythm and my ability to multitask sucks (and yet I can play bass and play guitar and sing at the same time x_x)

I used to play a bit of bass, but I could never get the hang of it. Stringed instruments aren't my thing, really. And drumming gets easier. When I first started I felt the exact same, but then I started practicing everywhere that I went. When I was in class, I was keeping the beat with my hands and feet.

I find it really hard to keep the beat when what I'm playing is louder than anything else playing, so I can't play guitar over bass, or drums etc. actually I can't play guitar over drums either, which is weird. maybe I just can't concentrate enough.

I've only ever played one performance, but what I do is rehearse like hell, plug some ear plugs in and just go to town. If they can't keep up with the song then the other members of the band didn't practice enough.
