I've been having problems with a new feature and need some people with the capability to use either HMT or some similar program which is capable of doing SP->MP. I do not know whether or not HMT0.5 or C#MT are capable of this using the HMTv3.5 tutorials or not. In the hopes that they are I'm asking anyone who has access, the capability and know how to help with this.
E0.7.3 internal includes a BSP replacement option and some optimizations/bug fixes related to bitmaps.
How to use the BSP replacement tool:
Open map with target BSP.
Recursively extract target SBSP tag.
Open and expand target map.
Select the "BSP selection" tab.
Select the BSP to be replaced from the "BSP chunk" drop down menu (for MP maps there should only be one).
Select the extracted SBSP tag from the list box/
Option: Do Not Import Duplicates: the SBSP replacement process also imports all the dependent tags. This option will not import tags that already exist in the map.
Press the rebuild button and save the new map.
There have been problems similar to implicit DOBC references but they also occur on maps which do not include those kinds of tags. The cause is currently unknown although one possibility may be that the map relies on an implicit tag ordering structure. A way to test this would be to use a SP->MP conversion that is known to work with HMT but does not work with Eschaton as a base case. The simplest test would be to do the SP->MP conversion in Eschaton, confirm the errors and then do a zero-change rebuild with HMT. That is to say with HMT batch extract the map, and then rebuild it without changing anything. This would simply reorder the tags and possibly remove unreferenced tags. A comparision between an Eschaton->HMT zero change rebuild and an HMT SP->MP conversion may also reveal the associated problems. Thanks in advance for any one interested in researching this and helping make Eschaton that much better.
