Well, think. halo 3 hood stated that earth was the last planet left or something. That was obviously not true. they had onyx and most likely a few colony worlds never found by the covenant. But im actually excited as hell to see how this comes out. multiplayer aside, they seem to be listening to us when we say we don't really want anything changed (too much).

Modzo, I'm basing it on the way the model, animation and all that other jazz is handled. More specifically, that it's significantly different from H1 to H3. They are using full blown H3 animations and collisions for the updated version of the campaign from what I can tell and from what I've taken from the commentary. There's been mention though I don't remember where of the original engine having some play. Running side by side would be simplest that or ditching the old engine and porting old data to the new system. They've been light on technical details overall (understandably since it's all marketing right now).

Pillar of autumn revealed. along with a weird map... It looks... wrong. I don't know what it is. Maybe it looks too rubbery? Does that make any sense? Anyway looks like its that ugly reach keyes.

The light is the problem I think, the shadows are all inconsistent and everything seems to kinda blend together.

EDIT: And am I tripping balls or is there anti-aliasing shit going on with the characters

True. I hope its temporary, since this is the first indoor level they have shown(they didn't show the indoor part of the swamp). And i'm not sure, my graphics cards have never supported it, so I never bothered to learn what it is. Quick google says it fools the eye to make jagged edges look smooth and shit. But in that pic it looks way too 2D. Is that just me?

Anti-aliasing... Kind of distorts edges slightly, a kind of blurring. I might have used the wrong term, for what's going on in the pictures, the edges of characters have a kind of fade area that's composed of black. Not sure quite how to describe it but it feels like they're trying to hide the silhouette or something.

But on the anti-aliasing thing, it's usually when they're trying to present a high resolution image at a low resolution. Which makes me wonder about the graphics, since it seemed more pronounced in the campaign. Like using the new graphics with the old ones running as well is decreasing the amount of memory available for the new ones so they have to cut corners and whatnot. Not the worst solution, but still, it's going to bug me forever.

I see what your saying. The classic mode seems kind of pointless to me. But thats me, whos played through the entire campaign mountains of times with more or less those graphics.

I'm doing an Anniversary mod for Halo Full. I can't deliver an added graphics layer, but it definitely refreshes the whole look of the game and makes everything look nice and spiffy. It'll be out for DL on this forum on Nov. 15 if you're interested.

I don't think they'll have my money~! Not anytime soon anyway. If I will ever get it, it will be when the price drops to around 20¤ or less.
