how to makre smoke nades

i seen some mods with smoke nades instead of plasma nades so how is this done?

well how do you make it last a while?
lol i actually tried it, and i can't make it last more than 3 seconds, what do you change to that?

Start with the plasma. Change the model to the flamethrower canister. Go to proj and change plasma grenade armed to the smoke tag of your choice. You can import a new tag if you don't want the mod to affect the original tag. The next step is pretty cool, it makes your smoke nade actually useful. Go into the effe for the tag you chose, then go into reflexives > events > events 1 > reflexives > particles > particles 1 and then change the distribution radii to your liking. Also change the count to something really high (in int16s). Do the same thing in events 2. Also note that you can change the color of your smoke in the ColorARGBs (also in particles 1 and 2). Next, go back into your plasma nade proj tag, null out any jpt and effe tags that have to do with the explosion. Then go into material responses and change the PR - response (in enum16s) to reflect in response #22 and #23. The last thing is go into floats and change the detonation delays to however long you want your grenade to last for.

I tried, it doesn't work T-T
Maybe i used the wrong smoke tag...
is weapons\frag grenade\effects\smoke OK?
It does have smoke... but it only stays for 2 seconds...
Any idea why?

There are two mods at least that you can copy the smoke grenade from.

If you wait for my tutorials we are going to put up on Youtube, I will cover effects in detail. And there is quite a bit to cover there.

Wait! I fixed it!! All it took was more fine tuning to the floats, i made the particles bigger, made the count very big, and changed the color. Now it looks like this!!
If you add a little more...

But I've already done those. Also, the smoke nades look badass. I didn't actually play around and make a smoke nade mod to get my tut, I just used my knowledge of meta. I'm glad that they turned out so nicely.

Yes it does matter.
Would you continue smoking cigarettes if they had black smoke instead of white?
