Reskinning the flag problem
Ok, so I am trying to reskin the two different colored flags, but when I try and inject in HMT it says I have to inject in DXT4/DXT5 (flag is in DXT2/3) and in eschaton it says the image is too large... wtf?
Re: Reskinning the flag problem
Screw HMT, Eschaton is much better at bitmapping.
First you find the flag bitmap. (either red or blue, whatever) Then you extract the bitmap. Then you open it in Photoshop and edit it. Then you save it. Then you inject it.
It should work, unless you messed up somewhere.

Ok, The things screwed up when I injected. I edited the mask in photoshop, and it wouldn't let me import it. I then tried extracting the DDS file, but none of my applications could read it. What should I do?

Get graphic converter or photo shop.

Yes it can
. One word. Plugins. Search for a mac photoshop plugin on google you should find something.

Re: Reskinning the flag problem
Ok. I exported the mask, edited it in photoshop, converted it in graphicconverter, then injected it. It all worked fine, but when I ran the mod the bitmap looked all fucked up, and when I checked the preview in eschaton the image had been shifted to the right, and the end of the right side had reappeared on the left side. Any fix for this? Also, it's not letting me reinject the original extracted DDS.

Any way to fix it? I got it to accept the original file, except now it appears to be to big.

as for the original question:Absurdistof wrote:Ok, so I am trying to reskin the two different colored flags, but when I try and inject in HMT it says I have to inject in DXT4/DXT5 (flag is in DXT2/3) and in eschaton it says the image is too large... wtf?
1. use eschaton, its 10x more stable.
2. its probably because you accidentky resized the image somehow, just open it in gimp or photoshop or w/e you use and resize it to the original dimensions.
oh and as for this:
maybe you don't need a technical fix for that? use your imagination.Al Capwn wrote:Ok. I exported the mask, edited it in photoshop, converted it in graphicconverter, then injected it. try exporting the bitmap that got messed up, highlight the main part of the bitmap (not the part that got moved over) and move it to the left, then move the part that got cut off more to the right... so the game will still move the bitmap to the right and mess it up, but that will actually be what you want

DXT4/5 is not what it says it is, it is supposed to be DXT2/3
