New Maps
Okay, this question may seem slightly "under researched', but could someone give me a tut on how to make totally new maps out of scenery. (Like Crossing, BG's not showing at all.) i know I will get flamed but it's worth the risk.
thnx.

Gah, I've posted this tut waaaay too many times.
1. Null out bloodgulch's bsp using the nulling tut which can be found in a million places.
2. Import some scenery. Right now, I'm still unsure whether it makes a difference to do this before or after you null the bsp. Obtain your scen from Mota's Tags pack or convert/export/import your own from CE maps or something.
3. D-swap your new scen into bloodgulch's scnr.
4. Open your map in Swordedit or Sparkedit or some sort of Scenario editor like that, and relocate your new scen. Position it in a way so as to construct your new map.
5. Redistribute flags, netgame equipment (that means weapons), hill spawns, player spawns, and the like either through swordedit or eschaton. Some things may require eschaton to be moved. For example, you can move the flag base scen to wherever you want your flags to be in swordedit, then you can open eschaton and copy/paste the flag base coordinates into the flag coordinates, readjusting things as needed.
Note: Eschaton's scenario editor will not work unless you undo the change in hex that took away the model of bloodgulch. Therefore, when doing the hex nulling step, it's important to know what each value you change really represents, so you can go backwards if you need to.
6. Test your map for glitches, make sure it can be rebuilt (big mistake on my part, try to avoid forgetting this vital step) and make sure all spawns align the way you want them to.
7. Give it a cool name, and release that thing.

Uhhhh actually, no. It wasn't you. I'd say the one who started it would be Deox with his Deep Space mod (to the best of my knowledge that was the first "new map" type of thing). The only thing you did was convert (sorta) a CE map. And it's actually not as popular as you might like to think because of the holes in the coll, which make it pretty unplayable.Tyler777 wrote:lol it was me that started th mini mapping scene XD hope to see lots of good maps
