Tag Help
Hello, even though im a guest I would be grateful if anyone can help me (Sorry if my English is bad)
Well Recently I've downloaded a bunch of tags from Hce.Halomaps.org and im having trouble implementing them into bloodgulch
Tags:
(Halo 3 ODST with collision, Ghost H2 Tags, Halo 3 ODST FP arms tags, halo 3 banshee tags, and reach warthog tags) If anyone can tell that would be great And before you tell me, Yes I did look at the tutorials section but I couldnt really weed anything out.

Re: Tag Help
Hello, guest! The problem here is that due to the way the CE tags are saved they cannot, with the current programs we have, be imported in our maps.
What you'll have to do is make somebody with Halo CE import the tags for you either in your map, or in a map from which you can export them with Eschaton.
I don't have CE so i can't help you.
But hey! Maybe there is some-man here who could help this poor lonely guest! Isn't there? […Sparky!]

Re: Tag Help
Sure thing! Thanks to Eschaton it's not as hard as one might think!
- Open Eschaton
- Hit -shift-L, or click File > Load Tags Recursively
- In this window select the hayabusa.bipd.meta file that is located in H3 Elite Biped > h3r > characters > spartans.
- In this second window select the whole H3 Elite Biped folder.
- Once the tag is loaded it will appear under the Extracted Tags carrot.
- Now -shift-O, or File > Open and Expand the map you want the tag to be in. Wait for it to load.
- The map will be under the Maps carrot. Click it to make the Map Information appear in the box to the right.
- Click the checkbox of the bipd tag you imported earlier and press the Import Tags button. It may take a bit.
- Hit the Rebuild Map button and tell Eschaton where to save the map.
and you're done! The biped is now in the rebuilt map!
If you need help on how to play as that biped, let us know!

Re: Tag Help
Alrighty last question, and I'll be sure to rap it up. OK 1.) How do I open Eschaton 0.8.1.1 or 0.8.1a Because the 8.2 version doesn't apply the changes correctly. And 2.) what you posted above me, does the same concept work for weapons?

Sorry I cant edit that post but if it matters I'm not using a mac maybe thats why I don't see a startup Icon?Guest wrote:Alrighty last question, and I'll be sure to rap it up. OK 1.) Re: Tag Help
My updates for the Incyclopedia have been delayed in favor of getting other stuff done. But you can find almost all the tags released at HaloMaps.org in the Incyclopedia at the HDM tools page (http://tools.halodemo.net/). Use the INCY in Eschaton by opening the map file -- or if they are tags in folders, by using Taxi's method above -- and recursively extracting the tags you want from the map file, then importing them into the expanded map file where you want them, optionally shuffling references, then rebuilding and optionally opening that rebuilt map file to further mod it.
NutHead was right in that the online version of the Incyclopedia has yet to be released, and is called the INCY Online.
If you have any specific requests besides what you find at HaloMaps.org, send me a private message here (register at this forum first), or ask in the Mod Requests forum (see top of this page).
Regarding your most recent two posts, I don't think Eschaton 0.8.1.1 or 0.8.1a have been tested with Windows. What you can do is download 0.8.1 and Sparky's Plugins (the link is at the HDM tools page also, in several places), then put those plugins inside the Eschaton plugins folder. To apply most text and number value metadata changes, you have to hit Enter/Return after you change the value in the text field. Then the changes are applied. That said, I've had limited success with Eschaton in Windows, but that was before I made those plugins.
And yes, the same concept applies for every tag. You recursively load (or extract, if from within another map) the MAIN tag, whether vehicle, actor_varient, weapon, or whatever else is the main thing you are trying to import.

Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.
