so yeah, no AI's, and yeah... i would do this myself. CMT has my favorite halo 2/3 weapons, but(too much) ripped CE is not welcome here.
OH HAI GUISE. Back to halo once again haha. And uhh, I challenge you to make my mods in 5 minutes? (not denying I'm a ripper..)

Possibly, if you have everything you need at the start (tags already edited perfectly to your liking) and then import them, which was not the case for me.

Guys, for the last time.

I disapprove of CE content unless the person makes it himself/herself. Its ridiculous how people can steal other people's content, then say its tough and am an "average" modder. That is not average. Even if you spend all of your time looking for tags and maybe an edit here or there, its still lower than average. Its not very nice for you to say "Okay, I ripped tags. I have Halo 3 weapons! I have Halo 2 brutes! But I edited some things! I'm still an okay modder!" when the person creating the tags spent much more time and effort.

Now and then, an innocent newb would come along, and not knowing what he is talking about, say "Hey, you're good, cause your mods are good" when in actual fact about 70% of it is ripping, usually 100%.

I really dislike this, and please, can you just stop ripping CE content that is not yours? It will cause a lot of problems.

As for them HDM CE rippers, AID and whoever else. AID doesn't even credit the makers of those tags.

Heated discussion going on? I really don't care about ripping as long as credit is given. I mean really? It's a tag that someone has worked hard to make... FOR THE HALO DEMO COMMUNITY. If you release, please don't protect because that could delay or downgrade some other person's work who really likes that tag. But I believe rule of thumb is that you contact the creator and explain WHY you need it and ONLY if they give the ok to use, may you use that tag and GIVE CREDIT unless its one of those free tags that doesn't require credit such as the normal Bungie assualt rifle (hey, you could have lost yours).

Wow, looking back on this post, I think I love using "..." too much... ARGH!!!!! There it is again!

Thats CE bro.
yah thats CE, converted to demo. the problem is, we cannot create encounters. when i get my mac back ill convert CMT spv2 beta to demo (it will crash, unless you have full) and you can rip them. i ask you donot release mods with CE unless you balance it with YOUR own content, like, dont make it obious you have CE in the mod. look at one of aids mods, those are pretty much a bunch of RIPS. if you see that b30 one it lags like hell. also, i reccomend finding something original to do. if the great battle of gulch or whatever is converted, i could do something with those AI's. heh, i never thought of this. hmm...
I must admit a lot of my early maps are basically rips from other maps, although of course there are some custom-made content by me like the longsword. Instinction is probably the biggest rip i did, and back then i was thinking that a major rip with all the halo 3 weapons and vehicles would be really cool. I realized m error past then and I've been more focused on upgrading/advancing current maps and working on my own SP mod series. I understand your concern though, i was pretty much a ripper back then.

Also regarding credits, i put credits in every one of my maps that i can remember, either on the file page itself or inside the readme.txt. I put credits on the maps that didn't have them on the file page, hopefully that alleviates any conerns.

Also the ONI Section 0: Tier 0 and Databank Facility maps work fine on trial, so im not sure why it wouldn't work on halo demo, i updated the platform anyhow. Sorry about that.

i gotta say^,
your mod with a bunch of covie ships lagged like hell.
Halo demo and full are both completely cross-compatable.

Never encountered that problem on my computer, which is why i supposed it was a mac issue. That lag would be because of the way halo loads scenery, i was near the max, although it rendered them pretty well.

And what do you mean they are cross-compatible? You mean halo trial and full? they are for the most part, but not all the way.

I used to think the same, that trial and demo are fully cross-compatible. That is true for almost every map, but besides the obvious network difference, the engine handles things a bit differently in mac than pc. All of the maps I have made work fine in halo trial, yet i get complaints that they have issues in halo demo such as exception data, respawning problems, etc. And when i try some of the mac mods on halo demo, like Isle by Moxus, it doesn't even work at all on my halo trial engine. Thats what led me to find this engine difference out. Im pretty sure Sparky said something about Demo to Trial Full and CE conversion though so if he includes Trial to Demo in Zues then this should all be resolved :)

And yeah, with 1 gig ram your comp would have a lot to handle with all that on-screen rendering, that would probably explain it.

Yeah, SC2 was great, wouldn't run on my computer either though :P well it might considering i have 2.1 GHz or something like that and a good graphic card, never tried it yet. I haven't got caught in the SC hype yet.

While I must agree with sugarlumps that ripping tags off from people who did it themselves(ok, I admit I do it too)to make your own mods is really ridiculous, I also have to say that Blade is right as well. In my opinion, as long as we give credit to the people who made the tags that we used to make mods, things shouldn't be that bad. But then again, if you don't like people stealing your tags you spent lots of time working on, then go ahead and protect your map.
May peace prevail in this world.
Perhaps I should mod Halo again. Soon.
