Slowing Down?

Re: Slowing Down?
While any type of mod can be fun, the multiplayer mods that I value most happen to be the ones that are new maps meant to be played for Halo 1. Note: if you're looking at a mod that has halo CE content, or halo 3-themed stuff, or new weapons/vehicles, it probably fails to be in this category.
These maps can't be too big in areas (also need to be reminded that in halo demo, more often than not, smaller games [eg, 3v3] are played more often than bigger ones [eg, 7v7]), they need enough cover, probably can't be too flat (need to be designed well), can't be too confusing, colors can't look awkward, can't be too laggy, and need to be on par with bloodgulch on a competitive playing field.
I looked at the mods on HDM recently and the ones that happened to interest me the most are crossing, outpost 49, barrier, and sandpit.

Well, Nil won't like my new map once it's done.
In fact, no one who doesn't like huge maps and exploration will like my new map. Which means I'll probably be the only one who likes my new map. >.<
Ah well, it's giving me a creativity boost that's sorely needed and should help me get back into making other stuff... maybe I'll finally get around to making a small, playable map...

If you play competitively you should just turn your particles and stuff to low and profit from no lag >_>Kiyoshi wrote:LIESSSSS. I loved that mod. :'(Moxus wrote:And that's why Isle failed..

Re: Slowing Down?
No thanks. I don't want to have my graphics look more awful than they have to be. Not everyone that plays competitively uses low graphics, fortunately.Divine wrote:If you play competitively you should just turn your particles and stuff to low and profit from no lag >_>Kiyoshi wrote:LIESSSSS. It does work on PPC, just perhaps not for you and some others. I'd take a guess it's simply that your computer can't handle it.Flaming Bunnies wrote:I think Isle is a pretty cool guy. eh doesn't work on ppc and doesn't afraid of anything.
EDIT: Kayar, I was just identifying the type of mods that I value most. I wasn't trying to imply that any other type of mod (eg: that involves exploring around) is not fun.

I use an old iMac G5 (FIRST MODEL) at 1.6 GHz with 512MB of DDR SDRAM. It's running Leopard.
Why does The Island work?

I know, no hard feelings, I was just making a sort of joke where I insult my own maps because I know no one plays them, so more me being hard on myself, I knew you weren't even connecting it to me. But, it is true that I do want to try and make a map someday that could actually be played legitimately. I just need to get out of this mindset of "bigger is better."nil wrote: EDIT: Kayar, I was just identifying the type of mods that I value most. Blargh, anyway...
