Ugh... I can't really figure out those directions. They seem sort-of scrambled around. Sorry...

Demon, HexEditor will save the map after an edit. That error message will pop up, but, it has been changed.

so you have HMT? then all you have to do is find the rocket speed tutorial and follow the direcions. then, use the .weap plugin instead of the .proj one, and find the "ammo lost per shot" thing. then do what you did for the rocket in the tutorial. add the number from the plugin to the meta of the weapon, find in HexEdit, select wha it is (short or float) and change it. you have to press enter to change it (this is why i had problems before. i didnt press enter.) save it and then switch the first 800 bytes to demo. save that and play. that gun should now not lose ammo.

if this still dosnt cover it, ill post a tutorial that is as detailed as i can get.

i wouldnt know how to bypass HMT, since you need the plugins and meta of the weapon to find and edit it in HexEdit.

well, it would helpnewbies out a little. they would be making more advanced mods, without some of the trouble they have now... i suppose i could post it. can some people please give some feedback on whether or not i should? ill PM it to you syperium, but ill only post it if people think its ok.

I could also post a very basic tutorial, if people believe that there should be one. I don't know if HexEditor will always save, but I think that it does.

the error message isn that big of a problem. just hit enter. i found something out though. when doing "save as" if you rename the file from (example) bloodgulch.map to bloodgulchA.map, it will say it didnt save. this is true. it didnt save it as bloodgulchA.map, but instead as the original bloodgulch.map. you cant rename files while saving, basically. you must rename them outside of HexEdit.

anybody know of any video editing programs i can get? preferably something that can add music and words? just words is really good, but with music would be cool. im going to make a video on the mod so far.

There is this handy little app that came with your Mac called iMovie.

sweet. i have never bothered to use it, so i hope i can figure it out. ive got the video, but it needs editing (no sound. also, i filmed it with my new camera to make sure it works. you will see it shaking. thats my hand. i played halo with one hand and filmed with the other. turned out ok though. everything i needed is on it). also, i wont be posting due to the fact that i go on a huge trip. on the fifth, ill pretty much be gone for the summer (unless canadian campgrounds have wifi). ill post a link to the video as soon as possible.

EDIT: ok, ive got a basic video. its uploading to Mythica right now. ill post again when its finished. ill also give some info on it because i wasnt able to put in subtitles (iMovie wont let me

sorry about low quality. it would have been much bigger if it was better quality (around 50 MB. yeah, big.)
because the video has no subtitles, i will give some info:

AR-shoots turrent bullets
pistol-x2, x8 zooms
sniper-shoots plasma nades
grav rifle-low range plasma bolts
shotgun-30 plasma bolts
fuel rod-large range, instant kill, more weight (bigger arc)
rocket-homing (not in video)
if you are overwhelmed by opponents, or want some stealth tactics or just to get a good shooting place, climb a wall. you take no fall damage. all weapons have infinite ammo (due to my original map being overwritten...) except the grav gun and soon the feul rod. vehichles are the same, so i dont need to show you them.

any suggestions or questions? keep in mind im still working on it.

If you wanted to you could make a simple movie including the footage that you shot, some song as the audio, and add some titles. iMovie is easy to use; you can figure it out incredibly easily.

i know. i just edited my previous post. i got the movie on Mythica. unfortunately (and i dont know why), iMovie wouldnt let me add titles... i went to the help section and did what it said but it still didnt work. at least i got an audio file in. that worked. keep in mind its my first video. refer to the post that is two higher than this for more info.

hey, did anyone know that this topic has the third most posts of all the topics in the halo demo forum? it follows the Halo Demo Mods (by Monoman), which has 191 posts. the first most posted in is the Mod Development Board (also by Monoman) with 263 posts (although it is now locked). this has 178 and counting. cool.
