Re: Campaign modding
So then what's the problem?
Re: Campaign modding
The problem is that most tags I have inserted into A30 always causes the map to crash somehow. It's the only problem, and it's a real bitch too.Vegerot wrote:So then what's the problem?

Re: Campaign modding
I only "illegally download" software that I plan to buy later, or that I only use certain resources from for other creative projects -- which just means that those other projects become advertisements for the original thing that I downloaded. For example, I downloaded Halo full from the torrent years ago. Then because I was using the resources only for modding purposes, what I used became a further promotion for the full version of Halo. But I bought every copy I could of the game later, since I was still working with that content.
The only problem is when you think of something as a demo when it is not. Most of the time, you play through it, only to realize that it wasn't that great -- or to be more accurate, you realize that maybe the storyline wasn't that great, but the content of the game could prove useful in modding with a different game engine. It makes you not want to buy that game or application, except that your decision would then be based upon the usefulness of the game's content. The resulting patchwork of content in a mod should be used to promote each application from which that content was taken. And if you keep using it, then you know it's useful content and you should buy that game or application.
So if you download something illegally, start saving up to buy it legally. And be careful, because prices can shoot up like they did with Halo Full Mac when the availability declines.

Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.
Re: Campaign modding
I had actually planned to buy Halo Full(or even Halo CE), but however, they no longer seem to be on the shelves in game shops near in my country. So even though I agree with your statement, I still can't buy Halo Full or even CE. Well, maybe except through Amazon or whatsoever, but I don't exactly have a lot of cash to spare right now.Sparky wrote:I only "illegally download" software that I plan to buy later, or that I only use certain resources from for other creative projects -- which just means that those other projects become advertisements for the original thing that I downloaded. Re: Campaign modding
I know. I actually use Halo Full because of its unique things that aren't in the demo. Like structures, BSPs, and modding campaign. Also, I was planning on buying it legally except for the fact that it's like 99 fucking dollars, so I personally think that's way too overpriced. ~~~~!
Edit: lol, I thought I was on Halopedia derp!

Re: Campaign modding
I bought a legit halo PC version and pearl'd those maps to use in demo. Then I pirated halo full because its much better, not legally sound, but its morally sound in my eyes.
Re: Campaign modding
Indeed, 99 dollars is a very unreasonable price.Vegerot wrote:I know. I actually use Halo Full because of its unique things that aren't in the demo. Like structures, BSPs, and modding campaign.
