You could also just null the falling damage, and have the Flood spawn at various points down the fall. It's still ambitious, but the simplest solution is often the best one.

Good idea. If you've played Halo Full or seen a video of Two Betrayals, there's a part where you have to go through lifts and flood spores spawn on the top of the lift. You mean the thing Keyes is attached to? The clump of flood stuffs? That's no Gravemind. I forget the actual name of that thing, but its a lesser flood form on the path to becoming a Gravemind which is designated to take over certain lifeforms purely in order to gain knowledge, typically in order to fly a ship, which was its purpose on that specific Covi ship. Yes, that thing. It's a Proto-Gravemind the last time I checked, not a true Gravemind, but I might use that model because I looks like the one in Origins 1.
