For the grass, we can try the maximum resolution supported by the Halo engine, if anyone knows what that is.
1024x1024 i think but i could be wrong. Ask Rofl (If he still exists) he did some stuff with bitmaps...

The largest image I can find is the 1024x512 loading image, so that sounds about right. Anyone else has answers?

you can expand it. i did a grass texture that was 4096 by 4096. but bloodgulch's bsp squashes the image smaller, just leaving a pixely mess :(

So ... does that mean that the resolution cannot be improved? (WIll a new BSP help?)

a new bsp with grass that tiles less often will mean i can make grass textures bigger that can have more variance.

No i mean like everything was normal, but peoples names were in black ( i should have taken a picture damnit!) and the color palette went from top all white to grey to black...

Alright, I can just make a new bsp that has a single bitmap stretched over the entire map, so you can make the whole thing as varied as you want without worrying about tiling errors.

So it'll be the same amount of data, meaning no added lag with greater resolution, right?
