HID bundles are just files related to CFM apps. (Apps coded with Carbon AFAIK) I'm lead to believe they involve configuration information.

Nib files are just gui interfaces. If you have xcode installed, the hid file you have should just load the pre-game interface window. Btw, by changing it so that the console is enabled in the nib does nothing for the game.

Both of those files are just OSX specific files necessary for some types of applications. They have nothing to do with the incompatibility between trial and demo.

Think of it this way. There's a fish (The whole game) and the organs (two of which are the hid and nib). You can change two organs, but that won't affect the whole fish. However, if you take them away, the fish dies. Yay for clever analogies!
