I need help on a mod! how do u make a energy sword??
Moderator: Halo Moderators
Well, you don't really make the Energy Sword. With HEK you could, but it's far easier to just import an existing one.
So, to start, we need to import the Energy Sword. However, I don't have time to give you a detailed tut right now. Poke around the tutorials forum and there should be one there. If you manage to import it, there's a few more changes you'll have to make. Check back here for more.

I'm having difficulty making the sword usable; I was successful in importing it, but then it wouldn't show up on the map after I swapped it with another weapon... Swapping the mod2 with another weapon worked, but then the blade wasn't there (no ligh or glw! tags in the other weapon).
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

Import a sword
Export the a weapon such as pistol or AR or whatever.
Rename the *weapon of choice*.weap file and the *weapon of choice*.weap.ehrmf file, to match those of the sword's.
Inject your modified weapon.
Dep swapper:
change all the tags from your modified weapon (sword/pistol/pistol) *or soemthin like that) to match teh tags of the sword
Go to Itmc pick a weapon, and swap it it your modified weapon/sword.
Read this for a better understanding.

This isn't necessary. If you import it correctly the Sword should be able to spawn on it's own. However, you will have trouble with the Mod2 (when it was imported correctly): The blade will not be visible. This is because that imported Schi and Scex tags will not be visible in the map right after import. To make these shaders visible, simply export the meta of each tag in the original map, and inject that meta into the imported version. When you play the map, the shader(s) should be corrected.Slappey wrote: Dep swapper:

If you don't know the specific tag you need to correct, check the mod2 tag using the dependency swapper.

Still doesn't work. The soso and schi tags are already there after I import the weapon and perfect the model.
Correction: It works! I imported the sword and then swapped a weapon's mod2 with the sword's mod2. Then, I injected the metas of the schi and soso tags from the original b30.map into the bloodgulch soso's and schi's sword tags, just like what Moxus said.

Not sure if this will work, it should, if it doesn't, *shrug.*
Righto, well Halo Demo apparently doesn't work on Intel Macs as of Mac OS X 10.5.3, so I have no way of testing if it works. You guys can tell me that.
There should be an energy sword in the place of the Assault Rifle inside both bases.

K cool, so then I don't know what the hell the problem is, I completely redownloaded Halo Demo, erased the preferences files and everything, and it's still not working.
Go figure. But what about the mod? Does that work?
EDIT:
The one thing I forgot to delete was the Halo Demo folder in Documents with my profile. Deleted that and works fine now. lolz.
EDIT AGAIN:
Not working completely. App loads, but when I go to Multiplayer, I get a "Halo can't connect to the network" warning.
