@ Mgal: What could possibly make you think this was a bot? Was it the excessive use of links?
@hujiyama: I'd say that it's not unexpected to use up that much cpu. I use around that much too.

It is quite sad indeed… :-\
But yes, it's probably nothing to worry about. I guess that if you try to run halo with its settings at minimum the used CPU would turn down a little, but that's up to you. (if your start-up window doesn't pop up anymore old Alt while starting halo to bring it up)

Just be careful of using it too long if it gets hot.hujiyama wrote:thankyou guys! now i feel a lot better and i probably wont need to dream of my mac burning down while playing halo!

I've burned my lap from playing HD on my iBook G4 laptop. But now I have a more heat-efficient Mac Pro tower that doesn't sit on my lap. The fans turn on when I'm playing a long game of HD in 1920 x 1080 resolution with maximum graphics settings possible. And also when I run several of those games at once as multiple hosted servers.Mgalekgolo wrote:Just be careful of using it too long if it gets hot.hujiyama wrote:thankyou guys! now i feel a lot better and i probably wont need to dream of my mac burning down while playing halo!
Running a single HD game for me at the above specs and leaving it idle on the main UI menu without any games running uses:
Code: Select all
264 Halo Demo 98.0% CPU 12 Threads 194.6 MB Real Memory PowerPC
