Does wind damping effect projectiles from weapons?

Post by (M)Assassin » Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:55 am

In Eschaton, if you go to Wind and click floats, there is a "damping" value. Can this value effect a bullet's flight path?

No. The wind only affects particles: smoke, dust, sparks, and all that crap.

Particles and flag materials.
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

If you wanted to, you could make a projectile's model use a flag material (probably only possible with CE, generally), or makeshift it by adding a jpt! Damage Effect to a contrail so that the contrail itself does damage, rather than the projectile. The latter method would be kind of strange, though, and I'm not really able to verify that you can add such a reference without chainspawning.

the rocket projectile does this, if you fire a rocket right next to someones head, then they will die even if it doesn't hit them.

I've noticed this with tank shells also. I fire the tank cannon, the shell flies past them, and they drop dead.
