K so I saw a thread on v about a guy hosting a halo server for awhile. I reinstalled, joined the server, and had a fucking BLAST for a good hour at least before he had to leave.
I haven't played since like early 2008. In my very first match, slayer, i joined late and went 17-4. Second was a ctf, went 22-8. I'm fucking in love with this game again, but what's with the epic lag nowadays?

Also, since I'm fucking nostalgic right now, I recorded a couple games, expect a montage coming soon once I get used to the game again and get some epic clips. ^_^

Yeah I'd probably get back into playing if there were better servers. When I go on it's usually only one or two servers even showing ping (which is usually 300+), and for the rest the ping doesn't even show up.

Yeah that was the downside... the servers.
And if I did get into a good server, it was full of like brazilians with 500 pings teleporting all over the place.

But it's still nice to go back once in awhile and play I guess. It's sort of relaxing after you realize how slow-paced it is compared to modern games.

The Px dedi is still online non-stop, and it's the right place to find good players. It's also pretty decent in terms of lag. It is password-protected frequently though. If you ask people about, you may be able to get more access to the server. Darn, I used to have the HChangers password, but it looks like it has changed since the last time the host gave it to me.. I haven't played in forever though, myself.

Hmm, if pheonix is still pretty active, and if I can get fucking halo to work inside of vmware.. that might be enough to keep me playing for awhile. o.O

For some reason halo worked back when I ran OS X natively on my pc, but it doesn't inside of vmware... weird. Every time I start it up I just get "an unrecoverable error has occurred" and then halo shuts down.

I use VMWare Fusion for running windows operating systems (xp and vista) on my intel mac pro tower.

Also, I have a crazy fast computer and a crazy fast net connection. I should leave some dedicated servers up sometime. I usually call them "Sparky's House" or give an ! exclamation point followed by the mod name if the mod is required. But I'm out of state now, so you'll have to wait until May. And my servers have no lag, even when running 12 servers at once.
